When I first started posting on here I got a number of personal attacks hurled at me right from the get go and I shot back at them to stick up for myself (which in turn probably rubbed some of the regulars/old timers the wrong way) "Hey, who does this noob think he is?!?! Isnt he aware of my high post count and high rep??":smt042

So for now on I will try to be a bit more respectful but it just seems like a good number of the posters on here are a bit too sensitive.

Oh you're absolutely right. But the first thing people said to me I was a troll and I was here to stir shit so naturally you get more defensive. But I'm glad I stayed.

 

I agree sometimes people get pounced on too quickly and accused of being a troll, and that's not always the case. More often than not that assumption is proven correct, but obviously in your case it wasn't, though I didn't think you were a troll. I think if people will stick around and just say what they want to say, in time people will realize they aren't here to make trouble. One thing I've noticed is that the trolls seem to spiral out of control fairly quickly.

 

Oh yeah. Their agenda is fairly transparent. I definitely don't think Reggie nor Iggy are trolls just new. I enjoy the different points of view because other wise it would be a big ass kissing fest. That would be boring.

 

Cosign that, I detest having my ass kissed, and I'm sure not kissin' anyone elses. I enjoy interacting with people whose opinions don't mirror my own, I often learn something, or it prompts me to look at something from a new angle.

see i felt when i joined, well trepidation. everyone were so close, and i felt so out of the loop. i never got any negative feedback, just stuck with it...and before i knew it i was part of this gorgeous family. i must say, coming from another country was hard...just the simple things that folk take for granted when they speak had me stumped....then they introduce language that includes troll etc. and i was lost. i'm no longer an internet forum virgin, and i so love it and the people here...!!! Iggy, I have to say, I'm pretty impressed by what you said in this post, and I think I'm actually going to publicly give you props, lol. :smt042 I can understand how some of the newer posters might feel at times, b/c some of the oldies around here can be a bit brash. But they're not all that way, and I for one, try NOT to jump on people right off the bat, unless of course they're just talking out their ass. But, I never look at my post count as being something special - so what...I talk alot, lol.

Anyway, as far as some of the posters being a "bit too sensitive"...maybe some of us are, but it depends on the topic at hand. Everyone has issues that they're passionate about and that they take more offense too if people say something stupid. But once you've been here awhile, you'll get a better feel as to what topics are touchier for certain people. I'm all about being opinionated and not sugar-coating the truth, but I still think there's an art to being that open. Ya feel me?

 

If I accuse a newbie of being someone other than what they claim to be, it's not because they're new. It's because what they are saying is anti-IR propaganda. So if I accuse someone of being a phony, it's really irrelevant if they're 100% honest, because if you actually are in a BM/WW IR, and you spout anti-IR bullshit, well that's just sad.

I am an enthusiastic supporter of Team IR. If you are opposing my team, I'm coming at you. I don't really give a fuck who you are, I just want you to know I think you're full of shit.

I think many people on here have their defenses up because there are "trolls" on here from time to time. So anytime someone says something that isn't inline with what others believe they jump gun sometimes which is understandable.
