The conversation about retiring the word often comes up in an effort to protect the white person who said it. I’ve noticed that trend for quite some time.

If they're using the word, it's likely not a trigger for them. There are many, many bm who don't take issue with the use of that word, within their social circles.

If the word triggers a negative response in you, don't use it. Wishing it be banned is a wasteful use of energy imo. Its just not realistic. I think wp just need to exercise some dang common sense with regard to that word.

Sadly, that seems to be the trend in this country. We work around issues so as not to disrupt the white person. Don't address things directly, instead make exceptions for accommodation. I don't get it. I don't understand bm supporting that mindset.

Idk. I'm just an observer in the grand scheme of this conversation lol. I guess I'm just tired of the caveats being made to keep wp "comfortable"...if that's the main driving force for some who want the word banned, I think it's incredibly unfortunate.
