Damn I didn't know all these couples hooked up on "dancing with the stars", like of mario lopez & his dancing partner, sabrina bryan & hers, shannon elizabeth & hers and two other ones forgot their name, don't watch it at all, just catch other shows talking about it. But none of the brothas hooked up with anybody on the show. Just one rumored one with singer mario, which they set that record straight that there is no truth to it. And the last single brotha that was on was floyd mayweather and nothing happened. I wonder why that is. It also happens in a lot situations like that, they always seem to become buddies more than often. Or is it just karina smirnoff the one who was with both of the single brothas on the show, is just not into bruhs.
Its just like real life. Black people in America date outside their race less by far than any other racial group.
I pretty sure that is the other way around. White people in america date outside their race far less than any other racial group.
Nah its true,i remember reading it somewhere. They did a poll.Dont know if the majority of the participants of the poll were black women lol
Statistically, whites date less outside of their race but that is because they are the majority....and there are plenty of single WW and WM in the U.S. Any nation that you go to...the majority will always have the lowest rate of interracial relationships/marriages because their pool of interracial lovers is less than for the minority. Ex. U.S. is about 70% "white" which means that only 30% of the population is "not-white" and therefore available for IR to whites....of course we know that a large number of that 30% will stay inside their race.....so you end up with about 97% of whites marrying in their race....however....the remaining three percent that go IR total 6.3 million (based on a total pop of 300 million and assuming everyone partnered up with someone) people....by comparison....the total "non-white" population equals 90 million In other words.... out of 210 million whites....6.3 million go IR...whereas 6.3 million "non whites" go IR out of a potential 90 million minorities....of course my stats are not wholly accurate because I'm assuming that any IR pairing involves a white w/a non white....not taking into account a black man marrying an Asian woman or a Latino woman marrying an Indian man. The numbers are also skewed further however because Latinos and Asian women outmarry high rates while Asian men, Black men and Black women outmarry at much lower rates. Considering how black men in England pair up with white women at rates approaching 30-50%, it's quite amazing that only 5-10% of black men (depending on that stats you use) in the U.S. pair up with WW.....the myth that all good BM are marrying WW is just that.....a myth.
There have been numerous studies on this, folks. In America its blacks who date/marry less outside their race than any other group. You will see, even in percentages, more whites marry non-whites. And why not? Whites are considered to be the ideal folks for so many of the immigrants and second generation Americans who are people of color. Asians marry whites all the time. Non-white latinos hook up with whites more than you think. A smattering of Arabs too. Black people in America, in comparison, do not hook up with those groups nearly as much (percentage wise).
You gotta tell us L.C., who is Miami going to draft...assuming they get the #1 pick... Michael Beasley or Derrick Rose
Get out of my brain. Amen to that! I've been writing similiar stuff and chatting to folks about it for years. The biggest myth is that black men are always going out with white women when in reality the vast majority never date outside their race. Yet black men allow black women to use that tired old accusation against them. That's why I call many black women paranoid. Truth is black women in America have a greater chance of losing out o potential black male mates to prison than they do to white females. Going back to that Jamie Lee Curtis and Willie Gault cover controversy from nearly 20 years ago, one of the letters printed in a following issue was from a black woman who wrote how black men were alwys paired with white women in movies, on TV and in commercials! Really? Always?!? What fucking universe was she living in? We have already pointed out here in various threads how bm/ww on-screen hookups are still relatively rare. In the film industry there are more ww/bw pairings. And as for commericals? Yeah, everytime I see a commerical with a black mna a white woman is on his arm because Madison Avenue knows that sells. Give me a break. During my lifetime of watching commercials if I had to guess I would say that 99% of white people are paired with another white person when the commercials are using actors to play couples. And 99.8% of the time a black person is paired with another black person. When that lady wrote that letter I tried my best to think of commercials in which a black man was seen with a white woman in which there was an indication that the two were in a relationship. I could think of two. Nearly 20 years later I can perhaps think of one or two more...if you gave me a few hours to rack my brains. But that delusional black lady can make her claims without an editor of a magazine having sense enough to see the nonsense in her accusation and toss out the letter as a result.
Are you familiar with an author by the name of Todd Wooten? He has a book I think you'll find very interesting. It's actually a pair of books (volume one and volume 2) which deal with racism as it affects black males from a sexual angle. He also covers the media and it's approach to portraying black male sexuality. I'm posting a link to his site below, you can check out chapter excerpts. This guy really breaks it down. By the way, don't let the title put you off too much. It's given a provocative title on purpose. He explains his reasons on the site. You can click on chapter excerpts at the top of the home page. http://www.whitemencanthump.com[/url]
Purchased the book last year. I've been meaning to for months to share some excerpts here with you guys but I always forgot to do so. Its a pretty good book that hits on a lot of points that have been driving me nuts for years. I think what kept the book from getting more exposure (other than the subject matter of course) is that 1)Wooten isn't some professional of a field, but just an average Joe who put together a book and 2)he chose a ridiculous title that is as outrageously silly as a Tyler Perry film. Shaft, you or I will have to start a thread on this book one of these days so we can get a discussion going on about it.
