Lolo Jones Shares $741.84 Paycheck From Bobsled Season, Explains Vine Video Complaint

Being an Olympic athlete comes with great perks—well, except for the paycheck, according to Lolo Jones.

The two-time Olympic hurdler turned bobsledder took to Twitter today to post a Vine video where she's cheekily complaining about her $741.84 check from the U.S. Bobsled & Skeleton Federation.

"Seven months with bobsled season. The whole season. That's it," she says before adding, "I'm going to be a little late on my rent this month."

But Jones—who has both a successful track career as well as lucrative endorsements—certainly isn't strapped for cash, and the sports star clarified her comments, explaining how she used the video to make a bigger point.

"I don't want to make anyone mad, and I've always wanted to help out the bobsled athletes," Jones exclusively tells E! News. "Some of them have debt because they've given their life to the sport. My partner Jazmine [Fenlator] and I had to raise money for the bobsled to be funded just to finish the season, because only two of the three sleds are funded by the team."

She continued, highlighting the difference between the track and field versus bobsled games.

NEWS: Lolo Jones makes the U.S. bobsled team

"I can't imagine halfway through my track season having to stop and raise money to finish," she said. "The Vine of the paycheck is just showing the difference between track and bobsled, and to be honest, bobsledders work more hours than track!"

She concluded, "The bottom line is that all Olympic athletes dedicate their lives to their sports and do not all receive lucrative paychecks like athletes in mainstream professional sports. So hopefully this will make people appreciate just how hard Olympians work, often just for the love of the sport."
