It takes a very caring person to go through the process of adopting a child, especially when its such scenario as having vastly different cultural backgrounds.

A big thank you, Jillian, for having such a compassionate heart.

On the one hand I'm glad to see A needing child get a home, but on the other hand seeing all these celebrities with Black babies feels a little.......well, I cant put my finger on it, but it just feels a little weird to me.

Good for Jillian, her partner, and of course the new adoption. May great fortune rests upon them.

The word is 'trendy', a fad.
Like when Paris Hilton used to carry her little doggy around in her purse and all the fashionishtas thought it was sooooo cool.

I ain't made tho', babies have a way of getting way up inside your heart. It may be a fad at first, but it will become very real all too soon.

Besides, if NO celebs were adopting Black children, I know I'd have a problem with that.lol:smt033

It is great that a needy child now has a loving home. I do hope that she and her "partner" have positive male influences that can be heavily involved in the child's life as well.

    I agree.

I also hope she provides some Black influence as well.

It was just never in the lime-light

"Fad" description is ignorance based. Celebrities have been doing this for decades. Much like non-celebrities have. Media/critics acting like this is something brand new.

Wasn't there a time when Chinese girls where being adopted too. They still are, but these children need homes and it's not like they can return them and get a refund.

Those who adopt take a huge leap that few are willing to take. It takes some level of enlightenment to make that huge leap. I think for kids with few options in life it is a welcome development to see them have a home. It could be a fad, but as much as it's in, it is a good thing, good times for the kids, and lesser load for those that are initially saddled with the responsibility of raising them.

They are so beautiful, I'd go great lengths to see what the babies would look like with mine and Jillian's genetics. :smt080

I will never understand same-sex attraction but isn't it a little weird even among gay people, to be in a relationship with someone who looks alot like youself?

Yes, actually. I had no idea. Although, I don't watch The Biggest Loser and haven't seen her on anything else (that I can remember), so really don't know anything about her. I always just expected to see her on the arm of some over grown muscle man, that's all.

Oh, ok. Fair enough. Her disposition was always a bit....... lesbian(y) to me, but, to be fair, you can't always judge a book by its cover.
