You know Chi, I often think this myself when it's posed to me. I guess it's one of those you can't win for losing type things.

It's really bad. I can't control what others think about my people, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna sit here and take it when it's put in front of me.

They want to find a reason to hate even more. Finding Murdock has Jewish ancestry only upholds the "truth" that Jews run Hollywood/the media and then they can feel validated in their thinking.

We're the enemy around the world. I've accepted that. I even hear from the Israelites that we're not the real Jews as well. Because Black folks are the original people, that would be nothing but the truth.

There are bad Jews out there and they do make us look bad. There's even prejudice within Jews. Like BMJ mentioned, theres Ashkenazis vs. the Sephardics/Mizrahis.

One day, my mother was at work and she's Sephardic and her co-worker who was an Ashkenazi Jew started talking shit about the Sephardics (a lot of Ashkenazis look down as Sephardics, especially in Israel. As dirty, uneducated and down right low class = NOT TRUE!). She listened to him and she said, whatever his name was, "Do you know I'm Sephardic?" Dude got embarrassed and apologized.

I once saw this movie about a Sephardic man who served in the army and he became friends with the police chief. He had a crush on an Ashkenazi chick (blonde) in their village. There was a couple (Ashkenazi man and Sephardic woman who were pregnant with their first child). The blonde chick invited the dude to dinner one day. Her father had some money stashed away and then after dinner, it turned up missing. Of course you know who was blamed. Later on there was this Ashkenazi man who had a crush on the blonde chick. The Sephardic man was sent to jail for allegedly stealing the money. He went into the jail-house and the chief couldn't understand why he was there. He knew him so well and knew he wasn't capable of stealing. Well, to make a long story short, the Ashkenazi man who had a crush on the blonde, stole the money. The aforementioned couple had their baby and named it after the Sephardic man and then he became King of the village. Everyone lived happily ever after. The end! lol

There are a lot of stories about Murdoch's jewishness, but most of it comes from anti semites. Most sources seem to say he is not jewish.

There isn't a problem. He choose to be recorded as that for political purposes. again, people lie and not dna. If they looked through his dna, They would find exactly what you said about him being biracial.

While I agree that the social construct is nonsense and because you are anything doesn't make you a race, there is still the dna that can trace people back to ancestry.

From scientific point, you can not trace someone from their religion. You can trace them from their ethnicity or race. The other issue is while I agree it was wrong to have genocides. I do not think that this changing to race would have(and did not) help. We are talking about a section of countries that enslaved people because of their skin color or race. Do you really think they would have said sure we enslaved other races but let us help you because you are another race? [saracasm]God knows it was so successful for black(my ancestors) and asian people that were put into slavery because of race. [/sarcasm]

estimate! and I agree there. If you trace them to a place and know the popular religion, then you can estimate. You may not be correct though. Again Barack Obama is a good example. No one person has to be in one race or ethnicity from scientific point and not this ridiculous social construct that makes no sense what so ever.

Again, I am aware of the social issues but the scientific part of is no more of a construct than dna.

If she did that then her husband would lose votes. The same goes for Barack. The census relies again on people and not on looking through dna. I could mark other and put down down alien. Does that make me an alien? People lie but dna doesn't.

It just is.

Dna can measure whether you belong to this imaginary group or another, but it doesn't make the imaginary group any more real. You can just as easily decide to group people according to their teeth shape and measure how many fit into each tooth-shape group by their DNA. Doesn't make MarshmallowShapedTeethies a real thing.

Again I was not talking about social interpretations. I have pointed out the dna and not the social construct. The use of dna allows for one to find out their parents. I could link Barack Obama jr with his father through dna. The way you explain it dna is worthless to figure out who is a relative of who. The problem is you are taking in the social definiton over the biological one. I agree the social is crap but not the biological. Why is it that I am able to trace part of my genes to african anestry and part to europe anestry?

This began because you suggested that previous definitions of whiteness were inaccurate.

They were/are not, because whiteness is a social construct, not a biological or scientific one, which means that whiteness is whatever society believed it to be over time.

Read the Wikipedia page, I certainly can't put it any more clearly than they did.

 

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to chicity again.
