No ill will against he or his family, but could this be symbolic of mindless fundamentalism dying along with him? Just my .02

There was a television clip of him a few months ago where he said, "Blow the Muslims away to hell in the name of the Lord."

All the guy deserves is a line in the obituary section of some regional paper...and that's it!

During 1 minute of the hours ppl spend talking about him, 50 ppl got blasted somewhere in Iraq or in Palestine, at least 10 kids died of AIDS or malaria in Africa, some homeless guy is dying of hunger and sickness in the streets of NYC...

Who was that guy who died again???

He supported the segregationists in the 60's against Martin L. King, lend it again for Jesse Helms against Harvey Gantt in the 90's and other acts against Blacks. I shed no tear for him.

He was actually a rather divisive and controversial figure. If you didn't know about him, that has no bearing on the coverage he received the day he died.
I only happen to have heard about it because for me theology is something I study as well.I expect Robertson and anyone else will eventually become a footnote too, but anyone can be a footnote-it just depends on who it is relevant to your situation.
    Thanks.

Of course. He backed the apartheid government in the 1980s. I'm actually quite happy he died. I'd have much preferred it if he were shot dead or run over or something terrible.

Well, whatever means of death-he's dead.I didn't post out of pity;I think you guys may have read me wrong-I just say "no disrespect"because one of the few things I do is let the dead rest;that's all. I don't mind pissing on gravesites of people if I think they're a waste of carbon, though.
I also was just saying that when a guy like this dies, to my mind it's just symbolic of something else, namely the death of an antiquated brand of thinking, that's all.
    Thanks.
