James Brown, the Godfather of Soul died on Christmas Eve of an heart condition. He was 73. He influenced generations of artists ranging from Michael Jackson, Prince, Hip Hop, and countless musicians.

Music has lost a giant and will be missed.

I can't count the number of times that I've been to a JB concert. The last time I heard him live was at a taping of 'The Arsenio Hall Show' in Hollywoood back in '93 (I think).

I also met JB on several occasions -- in NY, LA & SF.

    RIP, Godfather.

He was hard working to the end. I saw him on Soul Train back in the late seventies, plus hearing his music over the years. You would had thought he would die on stage but he died in a hospital in Atlanta. Brown was a trailblazer and great human being. He is unique and unreplacable. Many thanks n rest in peace Godfather of Soul.

Oh James Brown!!!! The man was in a league of his own. The man was very popular even in Africa. I grew up in Nigeria listening to his music and we all loved it. It must be disheartening to his family to lose such a rare gem. May he rest in peace.
