So my man and I were watching Sex and the City. The subject comes up of who is the best looking person that you have ever had sex with. He asks if he is the best looking, I said he is the best lover and is very attractive. He persists, so I flat out tell him that in terms of pure physcial appearance my ex form 2 years ago looked like Usher and he got pissed. My attitude was don't ask if you don't want the truth. Am I wrong?

In my opinion, no. You were honest. You did compliment him on his best attributes. You could've lied, but I don't think that would've been good. He reminds me of when women ask their man if they look fat in an outfit...lol

Funny how he wanted to be the best looking (albeit "lover"), but overlooked being the best lover you've ever had.

Well I would never ask a question I didn't want an honest answer to, but in my experience most would prefer you tell them little white lies on something like that. The fact that he asked and persisted once you attempted to deflect the question, likely indicates that being the best looking in your mind is important to him. But if he's a secure person he should be able to get past hearing an answer he didn't like.

In his mind being the best looking equates to being #1. I have had beyond good looking men who don't rate that high with me because of other attributes. He should quit whining and be happy you love him for more reasons than his looks.

Perhaps, but since he did ask her if he was the best looking man she'd had sex with, I suspect her opinion matters most to him, at least at that moment.

She didn't have to be so nice about it. Truth is when people ask questions like that they don't want truth they want to feel good. I think next tine something like this comes up. Be a bit more playful like"Youre the best person I've been with tonight. We have to wait and see about tomorrow"

I have to agree with this.
Some questions should simply not be asked. Period. Unless you are prepared to live with the answer.

that very well is true, but i wonder if folk who believe that actually apply it 100% of the time. and if the percentage is less than 100, why couldn't this be one of those exceptions?

just playin defense attorney on this one. lol

I asked this bitch once "who had the biggest dick in your life?", without missing a beat she replied "I dont have to answer that". So i insisted "bitch tell me who had the biggest dick or i will kick you out my house". She got agitated and said "my ex luca had the biggest dick", to which i replied "seeee,,,was that such a hard fucking thing to do?" right before i kicked her out :smt006

Fact is she was a lying ass bitch...and probably lied in that particular incident:D

You know, I'm too scared to ask shit like that. But maybe it's just down to me having no self esteem at all, fuck knows.
Seriously though, he asked for an ego boost. White lies to make him feel better and improve his self esteem are not a big deal. What Andrae suggested works just as well but even if you don't want to do that, just be playful. And even if he physically isnt the sexiest person you've been with, who cares. Tell him that he is. It'll make him feel so much better.
But yeah I agree with espy - this obviously is important to him and sometimes the whole truth and nothing but the truth isn't the best option. Tell him that he's beautiful and the best you've ever had. It'll make him feel good about him and surely that's what you want.

BMJ, I really like you. Really. Just admit that you like spooning and cuddling and stop referring to women as bitches.

I love ya but I dont get that.. The way he reacted, he clearly wanted her to lie??? Or was he so sure that MUST be the best looking?
Besides, I would be more concerned about best lover if I was him:mrgreen:

    BMJ, that was so funny!:)

So out of curiosity BMJ, is 'bitch' meant to have negative connotations, or is that merely synonymous with female/woman/girl to you?

I would think if they're the person you love them become the most beautiful person you've ever been with. When I'm inlove I have blinders on. Yeah other girls might arouse me but my girl is the only one I can really think of as truly beautiful.

my guess is he wanted her to lie. because if he truly thought he was the best looking, he would have preferred her to turn to him and just say it, not having to be asked. i think we're all in total agreement, he showed a high level of insecurity in this showing.

here's a runners up t-shirt for him. lol
