An 18-year-old man has been charged in a sex case involving a 13-year-old girl at a Pompano Beach hotel. Louis Jerome Green is being held at the Broward Main Jail on $50,000 bail on two counts of a sexual offense against a child between 12 and 15 years old, authorities said. Green was arrested Monday night in Pompano Beach. In his first court appearance Tuesday morning, Green told Broward Magistrate Judge John "Jay" Hurley that he was a student at Blanche Ely High School in Pompano Beach. Broward school district spokeswoman Marsy Smith disputed that testimony, saying that he was a student at the Dave Thomas Education Center until March, and he is no longer enrolled there. Morally speaking, was it right or wrong to charge this so called adult?
Like the aforementioned Roman Polanski (International Movies thread, and my tuppence therein)... If it were in a country where certain ages are the legal 'age of consent', it'd be no issue obviously... But where it is, for the most part, mandatory to be 18 and over.. ..the law is the law... Yes. She is 13, he is 18... helloooo?? If the guy were 18 and she were 16 then not in my opinion though.
Once they become old enough to drive (16) and he's under the legal drinking age in the US (21), then you may have reason for debate. Otherwise, it's wrong.
Dude shoulda known the saying, "16 will get you 20". Reminds me of this one dude in high school who said, "man, I'll go as low as 12." We were all 17/18 at the time. We still laugh about it today.
