Even though I live in Atlanta, I am not a huge Atlanta Falcons fan. I'm actually more of a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and no I didn't just jump on the bandwagon after they won the Super Bowl last season. But since I live in Atlanta I want the hometown team to do well, too.

Anyway, Mike Vick has been the quarterback of the Atlanta Falcons for six years now and it seems like he isn't any better of a quarterback than he was when he was drafted. He's an extraordinary talent with his speed and arm strength. With the flick of the wrist, he can toss the ball 60 yards and there's no one more elusive in the open field. But I'm beginning to wonder if he's a true NFL quarterback. Yes, he has pitiful receivers who can't hold onto the ball, but he also makes bad decisions in the pocket; getting sacked regularly; fumbling and oftentimes he's an inaccurate passer. He also tends to take everything bad that's said about him in the media personally. Just this week, he was fined $10,000 for giving his own fans the finger as they booed him after last Sunday's 31-13 loss to the New Orleans Saints.

I hate to say that he should be moved to another position because of his strong arm, but there are other quarterbacks like Tony Romo of the Dallas Cowboys who have already proven themselves to be very better quarterbacks in a much shorter period of time. What should be done with Mike Vick?

My main question to you football fans is this: Is Mike Vick the most overrated player in the NFL? If not, then who is?

    JEEEEEZ...Gimme a breaaaak!!
    Mike Vick overrated????
I`m a Saints fan, but if Mike`s receivers catch the ball last week, the game is much closer than it was!!

This guy IS the Atlanta Falcons...he is their Brady (New England) or their Manning (Indy)...a player that carries a franchise on his back CAN'T be overrated...PERIOD!!!

McNabb...he isn`t bad when he is not hurt...but Vick is SPECIAL folks!! :)

Mike Vick is an excellent player. Overrated? Well, I just don't think he pulls through as consistently as you would expect based on all the good remarks he gets but I definitely think he's worthy of some credit.

Yeah I think he is overrated. He is basically a really quick guy with a strong arm that seems to lack any sign of a brain what so ever.

He generally makes bad passes and decisions on a regular basis.

He is an entertaining player simply because he can run and the media eats it up and enflates his abilities to make money of that flashy style and street mentality that the inner city eats up and will run out and buy a 400 dollar jersey thats 7 times to big over.

Tom Brady and Peyton Manning(two guys that run the qb how it should be) dont give that media the exciting spin that Micheal Vicks irrational scrambles and street smart ebonics do. These guys play it by the book and are not flashy, thus not appealing to the average inner-city youth.

The media will inflate anyones abilities that has that street mentality and flashy style of play to attrack the ghetto folks that will run out and spend their welfare check on a 400 dollar Jersey thats 7 times to big.

Vick has been aound for six years and all he has r accomplished is making a few exciting runs and attracting inner city youth with his mentality all while the NFL brushes his lack of intelligence about the game under the rug to continue to make money of all those inner city people that yelll "THAT NIGGA VICK BE THE BEST YO!" His stats year in and year out prove this.

That's totally 100% it and has been.

The only one that can catch is Crumbler and they are doubling him now...

How else do you lead the NFL in rushing from the QB position, its because your TE is covered and Mike Jenksins and Roddy White should be nicknamed "The Stone Brothers" cause they can't catch a cold....

Give Vick some people that can spread the field and CATCH THE DAYUM BALL, they would be in the playoffs. That further proves that a team leading the NFL in rushing doesn't always make the playoffs. You win football games with Defense and the running game, you score with your PASSING GAME.

Michael Vick is NOT, i repeat is NOT the most overrated player in the NFL. That honor would go to Eli Manning of the New York Giants. People talk about Rex Grossman sucking, but my god, Eli Manning is the most pathetic excuse for a starting quarterback in the NFL right now. I mean, even when his wide receivers are standing wide open in the flat he can't get the ball to them. He's inaccurate, skittish in the pocket, and he throws off his back foot just as much, if not more than Rex Grossman does. Hands down, it's Eli Manning as the most overrated.

Michael Vick may not be able to pass for four thousand yards a season, but just like some of the guys are saying, he has absolutely nobody besides Crumpler to throw it to, and now that they're taking away and doubling Crumpler, the only thing he can really do is take off and scramble for yards. I know that the pro bowl is not any indication of how good someone is, but a few years ago when i watched Vick playing in the pro bowl, and he had Holt, Smith, Moss and all those other receivers to throw it to, he looked terrific. Just get him 2 fantastic receivers, along with Crumpler, and you guys will definitely see a different Michael Vick at quarterback.

    MR OVERRATED!

YES! Michael vick is the most overrated player in the NFL. He does possess some of the attributes to become an NFL quaterback such as arm strenght, and scrambling ability. But this guy is not an accurate passer and he will never be. He run's a little bit too much. And I will say this MICHAEL VICK WILL NEVER WIN A SUPERBOWL IF HE IS A STARTING QUATERBACK OF AN NFL TEAM!! Peyton manning, donovan mcnabb will always be better than he is. He should convert to wide reciever or some other position, but he's no quaterback.

Nice way to bring a thread back from the dead -

Of course you know nothing about football and your opinion smells.

Having NFL Sunday Ticket and the ability to watch games when and how I want allows me to watch games and re-watch them (TIVO!)

I stand behind my post and that's it.

He has nobody but the TE to throw too. Get him some offensive weapons he can use, combined with their rushing attack and they would almost be unstopable.

Drafting WR's is not a perfect science. Look at The Saints picks the last 2 years, they are all playing and making an impact. Look at the Falcon's last couple of moves in the draft and like I said, you can nickname them the "Stone Brothers" or "Men with Hands of Stone"

Watch how Roddy White and Micheal Jenkins catch the ball. Mike does not throw a poorly thrown ball 90% of the time. He is left handed the rotation is different but its catchable.

They catch it with their bodies, THAT'S A NO-NO in football...

I saw them both drop perfectly thrown balls all because they had to use their HANDS to do it and not clutch it with their hands and chest to make the grab.

Watch some football games man, I can call the play before its ran and even who the key person is in the pattern..
