On Friday, a black reporter from a Tallahassee, FL newspaper was standing in front of the mccain bus along with the other local reporters when he was singled out by the mccain security team. They asked him to show his press clearance, which he did, and then they asked him to leave, stating that the area he was in was for national press only. When one of the white reporters asked why was the black reporter being removed when the entire group was local and not national, the security team had her removed as well. Ive said it once and I will say it again...I have no idea why black people vote for republicans. Mccain consistently voted against making Dr. Martin Luther King's Birthday a holiday (once siding with racist NC senator jesse helms) and has voted against the Civil Rights Act of 1990 FOUR TIMES! Am I being an "angry black man" or do I just see mccain and republicans for who they really are?
That story is quite suspect for McCain. But, don't lump all Republicans in with one. The few do not pertain to the many, in most cases.
Hmmmmmmmmmm.... If your a Goldwater, Hagel, Lincoln, Eisenhower Republican then YES don't lump them with the Corp Owned, Swift Boating, Generally Racist, Neo Conseratives then NO you're all the same. I saw this on Countdown last night and frankly I am not shocked at all.'' http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036677/#26015674 This election is a real litnus test for America and frankly if they fail it, I'm packing my bags because when White people start suffering, instead of pointing fingers at themselves, they point them back at minorities and then you'll see violence in the streets and I am not going to be a party of the REVENGE cycle that happens after that.
The Republican party represents racists like Jesse Helms,David Duke,Barry Goldwater, and every social conservative pol in the US. The Rockefeller Republicans like Nelson of New York,Winthrop of Arkansas, and others care for Blacks. The current GOP does not like Affirmatve Action calling them "quotas" and set-asides.
i read that about McCain...his "current" dislike for Affirmative Action... we wouldnt need the damn thing if McCain's brethren didn't do the stupid shit they did in the past
Hey Jelly, good to see you here. While I am Republican, for reasons you and I have debated earlier, I have personal experience with McCain. I served on numerous committees and had multiple face to face meetings with him, and in my opinion the man does not care AT ALL about Black people. We (the Arizona African American Republican Committee) pressed him on multiple issues during my tenure and not only did he stonewall us, he was deliberate and open with his disdain for even having to meet with us. He did so grudgingly so he could maintain "apperances" for political collateral. The man will get my vote when HELL FREEZES OVER!!! That being said, in my political life I have in fact met Republicans who do truly care about minority issues. Trust me, I am very aware of even the slightest hint of racism and have a six sense to know when someone is hiding something.
Yeah, I hate John McCain. I'm not a Republican, though. Too conservative for me, can't handle it! I just didn't want to completely derail the thread when I say this: Petty, wtf!?@#$3! Put your picture back in your sig, I can't drool over that weird red one! It's just not the same!!!!!
Oh yes, the inevitable "if x doesn't win I'm packing and leaving" threat. I'm sure if Obama loses, you won't leave, but stay here and continue to work and do whatever you want. No country can offer what America does, and if you REALLY think wherever you go, that that place won't have racism, then keep deluding yourself. I'll be voting for Mccain, mainly because I believe EXPANDED SOCIAL SERVICES only serve as self fulfilling prophecies and make minorities that much more dependent on them. Not to mention federalized healthcare is a joke, and as a nurse, I can see that firsthand.
Cas,Goldwater voted against the Civil Rights and got a number of electoral votes from Mississippi,Alabama, and others. He has not apologized for those votes.

Not to mention federalized healthcare is a joke, and as a nurse, I can see that firsthand.[/quote] I agree on the healthcare, however you might want to further check into McCains plan for expanded government, he might not be talking about the same subjects as Obama, but he is very much interested in expanding government using OUR tax dollars in other areas.
Yeah I know, they're like some sort of mindless drones who aren't capable of critical thinking or they have ties to several oil companies. They also actually still believe that George W. Bush is in fact a christian.
Yes, I'm not capable of critical thinking. I'd love to know what you do for a living, I mean you must be a brainiac, and raking in over 100k. I haven't seen you post 1 thing of why you support Obama over Mccain, or why you dislike Bush so much. I respect people who support Obama because it coincides with their beliefs, but you, you just follow the masses, or vote for someone because they have the same skin color. Talk about hypocrisy and "following the herd." Mindless drone perhaps?
Okay, first off if you really think that I’m supporting Sen. Obama based on the fact that he has “a year-round-tan”, then you are sorely mistaken. I was a huge Clinton supporter back in the day, and originally I was going to vote for Hillary only because I didn’t even know that much about Obama and I was unfamiliar with his policies. However since the democratic primaries I saw that Hillary was beginning to sound more like a republican with her attacks on Obama while his message has been the same from the word go. Then I realized that I’m not voting for Bill Clinton, I’d be voting for Hillary, and who knows if she would do the same job as well as her husband did? This is for all the people who talk bad about Sen. Obama. I’ve heard him being called “elitist”, “puppet”, “out of touch”, and my favorite quote: “long-legged mack-daddy”. I just have to know something. I mean c’mon, is there actually a better alternative right now? There are 2 obvious choices for us to make as our president, and you just can’t see who the best overall candidate is? Are people that negative and filled with self-hate to the point where they are happy with the way things are going on in this country? It’s like back in the 2003 NBA Draft and the Cavaliers had the #1 overall selection. Their choices were: LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, and Darko Milicic (I’d include Dwayne Wade but we had no idea he was gonna be as good as he is). Anyway, the clear-cut pick was LeBron because he was exactly what the Cleveland Cavaliers were in dire need of. That organization as a whole was in the shitter before LeBron got there, and they couldn’t sign any free-agents because nobody wanted to play there. This nation is in the shitter right now and things are rapidly getting worse. I want a candidate who has the energy to revitalize this country, jumpstart this economy, and lead us into the future. If you can’t see that Barack Obama IS that candidate, then you clearly have a pessimistic outlook on life. We don’t need those “glass-half-empty”-type people anyway.
If I was gonna vote for anyone, it definitely wouldn't be McCain or Obama. Neither care about individual freedom or limited government. I was gonna vote for Ron Paul but he's not in the race anymore. I'll vote for Bob Barr. He actually cares about the Bill or Rights and the Constitution
