Since you're in FL too and down where I used to live, do you listen to the JoyFM? I forget the call numbers for Tampa area - maybe 91.5 or something??

 

i've noticed the florida gospel/religious/inspirational stations are much different than the ones we have up here. down there it's a lot of rock/alternative, guitar driven music. up here it's choirs and urban style. kinda interesting...

 

i have visited a couple "campuses" of this church and they also have online messages. it's very contemporary and still has a solid Bible base. if anyone is interested in checking it out, i give them a thumbs up.

Ya know, I think a good friend of mine used to "go" to that church. Her and husband had just moved out of state, and couldn't find a local church home, so they watched sermons online every Sunday morning - I'm pretty sure that's the same one. small world, eh?

yeah, i think overall "christian" music gets a bad rap, but a lot of the stuff you'd never even know it was "christian" unless someone told you. sounds very mainstream. i :smt049 it. :mrgreen:

 

yea, the older i get the more compact the world seems to be. lol it's a beautiful thing.
i don't mind the mainstream christian/inspirational music at all. very nice. good vibes. i still love me some scripture quotin in the lyrics type cuts too tho. it's like everything else we talk about on these forums... as long as the heart is in the right place, i can work with it.

 

and sometimes i like the fun stuff, i call it "show gospel." lol
cool thing is without the visual, it is still strong music. (i own this particular cd, it is good stuff) but seeing them live just takes it over the top. hahaha (actually that's what inspired me to buy the cd. lol)

I don't know if I have listened to that particular station, I will have to ask if we have, but I sure will check it out if not. I do like to listen to that sometimes. Thanks for the info, will let you know how we like it.

we jam to Praise 104.1 FM. it has some national shows including yolanda adams' morning show and coco brother's spirit of hip hop (rush hour thru the nite). both are great shows if you have never heard them before.

it's a pretty decent station, it's actually nationwide online too. http://www.thejoyfm.com/ i listen to it all day at work. it's good stuff.

I've never listened to them online, but I receive a daily Bible verse from them every morning. It's a good way to start the day.

 

Thanks all of you for the information, am going to be on that checking it all out. If you go to their website suprchic, is that where you get the daily bible verse? I would like that email sent to me daily as well, what a great way to start the day! It's such a volatile time in our world, I don't think we can ever get enough spiritualism.

 

I'm with ya on that, girl. There should be something on klove.com where you can sign up for the daily verse. I just looked at site, actually. Once you're there, hover over the MINISTRY tab, and when it drops down click ENCOURAGING WORD. Then there's a link for email sign up!
