IR romance/erotica/adult Novels & Books . ~ Fiction & Non-Fiction Categories ~ I haven't read these (yet) but they get glowing reviews... 'As director of a Boston art gallery, Mercy Rothell has made some hot deals in her time, but none like this. In order to sign the impossibly sexy, brilliant, and successful artist Shamus Montgomery to do a show of his celebrated erotic sculptures, Mercy must meet his curious but absolutely non-negotiable demand - she must pose for him in the nude, day after day, or he walks. Never one to back down from a challenge, Mercy agrees. Burning under the intense gaze of the hottest man she's ever known, watching his hands work their magic, Mercy feels vulnerable yet liberated and fully aroused, desperate for the kind of satisfaction only a master like Shamus can give. In fact, she would beg him to cross the line. And once he does, mercy is the last thing she desires..."
"Meant To Be" by Jeanne Sumerix Paperback: 286 pages Publisher: Genesis Press; 1st edition (July 1, 2000) Reviewer "When a white woman and an African-American man fall in love in rural Michigan, a lot of trouble can happen. Although Amy and Cord have corresponded for years as business associates, their meeting face to face for the first time sets them on an explosive path of events. The romantic tension surrounding their first meeting had me turning the pages right away. The first love scene happened kind of soon for me, but as I read further, I understood it needed to happen when it did because it forced them to decide whether or not to enter into an open relationship. I was practically biting my nails, wondering what Amy would do and feeling her love for Cord through her emotions. This book really opened my eyes to the difficulties experienced in interracial relationships. I thought the fact that some family members were supportive of the union made the story seem very real. I also like how Jeff Delaney is not just the bad guy but a very real character who grows over the course of the book. I really enjoyed this book and got wrapped up in the passion and emotions the characters experienced. I was sorry when it was over and look forward to reading more books by this author." Sherri Neilson -------------- "Gosh, it is a wonderful love story. The author portrayed the emotions with such intensity that I could feel every jolt the hero and heroine took. If you want to read about true love this is the story to read. " --------------
Barenaked Jane By Deanna Lee Lee's "Undressing Mercy" won raves from both readers and critics. Now, the second book in her red-hot trilogy turns the heat up even higher. "Jane Tilwell has a take-charge approach to life. That means dealing head-on with Mathias Montgomery, security expert and future brother-in-law to her boss at the art gallery. Surprising him during the middle of a planned "break-in," she can't deny the excitement she feels as he pins her to the floor. He's all alpha-male: arrogant, sexy, and rock-hard solid - in oh so many ways. And when he turns up at her apartment and invites himself in for a weekend of non-stop sex, Jane knows she's found her match. The heat of his body arouses her and his kisses leave her aching for more. Who is this incredibly sensual man? Why does he know her body so intimately? How can he bring her such seductive pleasure? To answer each and every question, Jane lays herself bare - ready, naked, and willing..." --- Review: "It took me nearly a year to give in and buy Undressing Mercy and I regret it to this day. That book was wonderful. So purchasing Barenaked Jane I thought this one would be a little more tame.....GUESS AGAIN!! This book is better than Undressing Mercy. I was hooked from the first page and the love scenes are scorching hotttt!!! I could not put this book down. Deanna Lee is officially one of my favorite authors and I will contine to read her material."
The final book in Her Triology... by Deanna Lee "Casey Andrews loves sex...but she wants to be loved as well. Of course, being blessed (or cursed?) with a body that renders most men speechless isn't exactly conducive to post-coital cuddling, much less the possibility of commitment to anything except...more sex. Not that there's anything wrong with the fantastic romps she's had with Connor Grant, head of security at the Holman Gallery - if sheet-scorching encounters were all she wanted. But Casey has other needs - needs that Connor, as gifted as he is, can't satisfy. Enter - ahem - Detective Shawn Tranner. Six feet plus of dark, muscled charm, Casey's new neighbor should know better than to take his morning run wearing nothing but a tiny pair of red shorts. At first, Shawn's merely an object of temptation, but when he comes to Casey's rescue during a home invasion, he becomes her real-life knight in shining armour...and so much more. A single glance from Shawn is enough to arouse Casey for hours...."

Review A beautiful, powerful story filled with raw emotion and intensity that touches the reader on many levels. This tale is at once a romance, but it is also about confronting prejudice and being true to oneself. I find it fascinating that women who read romance/erotic novels about women who are conquered (read: give in) by strong men would most likely never let this happen in "real world" situation. May I suggest that women who center their lives reading romance novels yearning this to happen put down the book walk outside in a sexy outfit (i.e. short black dress, fitness outfit, bikini) and watch what happens. While women have their romance novels we men have ours . . . porn.
Before I wrote my first romance, I never read one (well, not since I was a young teen and thought they were the worst things I'd ever read). I think there is a real desire within a lot of women to be able to totally trust and open themselves to someone who is strong and capable and very much in charge. The feminine submitting to the masculine... but most people equate that with a misuse of power and resist it (or go the dom/sub route). It doesn't have to be that way though. There are some very strong, capable women out there in many walks of life, that can hold their own in a boardroom or keep an understaffed restaurant running smoothly or balance kids, work, and elderly parents totally on their own... that still crave, deep down inside, to have that masculine essence come along and claim them, passionately take them, make them feel so safe and secure that they can just let go completely and dissolve into bliss. There are also those who think it's all just a fairytale and close themselves off from it. I was one of those people... until my first experience with a BM. Personally, I feel that was more due to a cultural upbringing than anything. He was from Africa and raised far different than any North American I had ever met. It was like he had walked out of the pages of a steamy romance novel. He had strength, confidence and the ability to make me feel more feminine than I had in my entire life. He was also very caring and supportive. The problem is, living in NA I am surrounded by men who have not been raised to be anything like that. Most I have met have a problem with being strong without being controlling jerks, and being soft without being over-the-top. I can see why romance novels sell so big for women. It's the only place where most of them feel they get that void filled. Unfortunately, even when we do that, we don't meet those kinds of men. They are very rare and very precious.
Word! When precocious pre-teen girls and teenage girls were reading romance novels(in my time it was mills and boon ugh i hated my sister so much back then) and had their heads way up in the clouds and living in lala land, boys at that age were discovering porn and getting embarrassed a little bit but loving it. I discovered porn accidentally at my uncle's house and it was playboy with a hot blue eyed blonde its centre spread in all her naked glory. Hugh Hefner was my god, the model was my goddess and i was her servant and playboy became my bible for quite a while. Wheew 1986, those were the days.
