Firstly, the theme of this article is false. Interracial marriages have seen a decrease for the first time since 1994. I've read that from so many credible sources so i'm not sure if this is just modest but inaccurate journalism or an attempt to mislead but i do know that this is not true.

Needless to say, it was a wonderful article in that it did not do something most (white) writers on the discourse of interracial relationships - paint a rosy picture. I am not sure if its personal instinct but with most writers, they begin a particular way which is start (occasionally but not all the time) from Loving v Virginia and then from them, it's happy ever after.

But as the most of us who live in the real world know, it isn't the way the media projects it. Despite what most think, there is still widespread opposition, better yet hatred of interracial relationships. Many are recipients of looks, silly questions, threats and even attacks in the worst scenarios.

But i'm glad this article didn't do that. It looked at both sides of the issue and portrayed it like it really is.
