Went to a friends wedding this Saturday. She's Chinese but the groom was Indian and it was a Hindu ceremony. 90% of the attendees were Indian. Think I was only one of two Black guys. Most uncomfortable social gathering I've been too since I went to my friend's (Arab) graduation party. Outside of the bride, groom, and the white guys at my table not one person said a word to me. I only stayed for the ceremony congratulated my friend and her husband and promptly left. Didn't bother with the appetizers, the dinner, and sure as hell wasn't going to stay for any dancing. I also bailed on my friend's graduation party after 15 minutes.

This shit doesn't surprise me at all. You aren't going to find any group out there that has any type of fondness for Blacks but Indians and Arabs take that shit to a whole new level.

 

I've experienced the same.

I'd rather not bother.

 

Sad that I have to co-sign with LA and Jase on this issue.
Individually, I've had good relationships with MEs and Southeast Asians, but when there's a group of them where 'elders' are present, it can get tense.

IMO Indians are still a conquered, colonial people. They will never outgrow the headtrip the Brits put on them, or the BS caste system/reincarnation crapola that legitimizes their racism and bigotry against dark skinned people.

 

In my experiences, no, do not expect cordiality, not a hint.

In fact, with the few older ones I'm, uh, cordial with now, it went like this:

Thats the gist of most prejudice against black folks from other non white ethnic groups. They've all had their own form of a caste system instilled in their own individual way.

You'd be surprised at the percentage of people that are completely unaware of all of this. Even amongst this board.

I believe he was in prison in South Africa and was disgusted by their behavior or something like that. I always assumed he pulled a Malcolm X and changed his views later in life. Could be wrong though. But you know how it is. Black guy saves 5 people from a burning building and everyone is "Wow! He's such a great guy! What a hero!" Another Black guys pulls out a gun in a club and shoots 5 people and as far as everyone is concerned it's "Typical nigger bullshit."
