what has happened with our economy, job market, housing, education etc is all about big business and the banks...it really has very little to do with illegal immigration...it is however common for the poor to fight to the death...it is common for people to segregate off into groups and fight against each other...half the time they don't even know what they are fighting for...united we conquer...divided we fall...

you do realize when the europeans first migrated to the usa...as a group they fought the american indian...then they fought against each other...french...italians...germans...etc...you still see it in major cities where groupings of people of similar race, background and religion huddle together...jews stick together...muslims stick together...etc...

illegal immigration is a problem...arizona is going about it the wrong way...you can't fight it state by state...the only solution is closing our borders...that has to come from the goverment...

this has become an economic issue because our economy is in trouble...when everyone has money jingling in their pockets...unemployment rates are down...then it isn't on the forefront of everyone's mind...

we have way too many illegals in this country and they are not ALL mexican...and all the other groups are sending money home as well...

well Haiti and Africa (such as Sudan, Rwanda, Somali etc..), those are due to major natural disasters or major civil war. We cant compare that with illegal immigration.

I agree with you on this has become an economic issue because our economy is in trouble and other countries should fight their own wars point of view.

 

we don't have money to help other countries with natural disasters...we don't need to be fighting anyone elses civil wars...we can't feed our own hungry or cure our own sick...so why are we helping anyone if we can't first help our own and our bordering countries...

we are not #1 therefore what we need most is to reel it all back in...we can't help anyone until we have a solid foundation at home...

if we brought all of our troups back home and all they did was protect our borders...reduce air travel in/out of the usa...make everyone jump through hoops to get in the usa...i hate to say it but we are too free to be safe anymore...

I understand being liberal Chi and I think most of the men on here are liberal as well but there's a difference between helping and giving away. The point that keeps getting hammered is doing things legally and being fair. Btw I know Lippy said that others weren't complaining about this before the economy got bad but that's inaccurate it's been a huge issue in southern and west coast states for a while it's just getting more national coverage right now. I probably wouldn't have said anything about this a few years ago or even when I was in college but I wasn't educates enough nor did I pay taxes but as a grown ass tax payer I know I'd rather see my tax dollars spent on the enrichment of of the tax paying citizens not people who are here illegally. I am all for cutting off foreign aide. No more hand outs anywhere until we fix home first. Let Haiti and Africa fall not our problem we need to help our citizens.

You can do that in a TIGHT job market.

Today Meat packers and janitors are minimum wage with no benefits.

That's all a LOOSE job market has to offer.

Letting in countless uneducated...unemployed...uninsured...people into the Country IS NOT A SUSTAINABLE POLICY.

America's middle-class can no longer afford to foot the tax bill for mexico's wealthy and Wall Street's elites.

I agree. I'm all for them coming in legally, but when hospitals are closing their ERs because they can no longer afford to give free healthcare to people like illegals, then it's a problem.

We have so many citizens of this country that are homeless, jobless, starving....we need to concentrate on helping them, and kicking out the people who are illegally coming into our country.

Fam just agree to disagree. From their pov they see this as a smaller problem in comparison to the threachary of big business which is true but for them it's like being shot in the arm and the leg while the arm might be easier to mend they'd rather focus on the leg. I think most of the men see it as fix what you can while you can.
