Im getting a free trip to Moscow with my dads Russian friend. He hasn't been to Russia since the late 70's. He's paying for my plane ticket. I will be gone for only 3 days. He said everything will be safe along as i stick with him for the whole trip. Wish me good luck.

i just packed my camera in my suitcase. All i'm taking for my carry on bag is my laptop bag. The airlines are very picky with carry on bags these days.
That's so true. I'm still trying to figure out which bags i'm allowed to carry onto my flight. Can i carry a bookbag with toothpaste, and soap in it and stuff like that? My flight is gonna be really long, so i'll probably need those items. Also, will you have to fill out a customs form for your laptop?
most likely i have to fill out a customs form for my laptop. Last Christmas i went to england and had a somewhat big carry on bag on my american airline plane and the airline was pissed and told me to check my bag in. I don't want to piss of the Russians so i going to play it safe.
i don't know what you can carry on the plane these days. They keep changing the rules and smaller is better. call the airline in advance.
You are allowed liquids (includes toothpaste) in cans smaller then 100 ml. No aerosols allowed. One lighter, one pack of matches... Some doesnt count computer and books into the weight, check the webpage of the flight company. ^^ So yeah, you can bring toothpaste, deodorant and so on.
They don't allow lighters here. I don't think matches are allowed either. They give away free matches at airports for smokers usually.
