It makes me sad that racial prejudice still exists...there is so much more to worry about in the world today than who is dating who.

Thing is, with work - unless you specifically announce the colour of your partner's skin, how would they know? And why would you announce it? It isn't relevant. It would only become relevant if they were to meet your partner, ie bringing them to a work-social do where other workmates are also bringing their partners. And if, in such a scenario, you were to NOT bring your partner because you want to hide the fact that they are black, then that is so WRONG on every level.

So she's hiding because she's chicken shit about what her family thinks. Which, to me, means she's not an adult. When you're a grown up woman, you don't give a rat's fuzzy back end about what other people think of your romantic and sexual choices.

Not putting me on the spot at all A very good question. All my housemates know about my liking for BM, my being a member of a forum, having asked a BM out that I worked with (and getting rejected dammit) and having seen a BM on the weekend just past. My Mum happens to think BM are handsome as hell so no problems there and my Daddy...well, we dont talk about boys full stop. It's weird. If I ever mention boys, he changes the subject.
