I Might Have to Consider Marrying a Teacher, Perhaps :)

I've noticed that in the past few years, most of the white women I've felt attracted to...complete strangers whom I have walked up to and made a move on have turned out to be teachers. So far it's been three in a row. The first was last year, a lady who I met while she was walking at the mall, shopping. At the time, she was 29 and I was 27. She turned out to be a high school teacher. Unfortunately, things got really tight for me in terms of my academic and work schedule, so I wasn't able to see her as often as she would have liked. And she was looking for a very serious relationship at a time when my schedule probably didn't give me as much time as I would have liked to commit to her, so it didn't really work out.

The second lady, she basically made a move on me one night at a Philly lounge when I happened to be there by myself. She was standing with this blonde friend of hers. The lady in question was brunette. She kept looking at me although she didn't say anything to me directly, but her eyes told me a lot...I figured perhaps she was just as shy as me. I asked her for a dance; we danced for almost two hours, but then unfortunately, I lost her number. We got along really well and I thought I had saved her number in my cell phone. The following afternoon, I was shocked to notice it wasn't there. I never saw her again. She was a sixth grade teacher.

This past Saturday night, while hanging out, I felt very attracted to this tall, brunette lady at another lounge. Although she had on a pair of long, brown pants, I could tell her ass was big. I couldn't help it...I took a chance and made a move. We danced and at the end, she gave me her number. I called her last night and left a message. She hasn't called me back yet. Guess what? She teaches sixth grade. I was shocked.

At this point, I'm thinking it might be a good idea for me to start actively searching for ladies who might be teachers; more open-minded and intellectual, etc.

Tucker, would you happen to know of any spots in Philly where perhaps lady teachers tend to hang out at a lot? I just want to give it a shot because there seems to be a hint that I might be more compatible with women in such professions.

Lainarain is also a teacher, and her posts about her sexuality are as 'uninhibited' as they come. Coincidence?

In my lifetime, i have only dated one teacher; but she was Asian. But yeah, i understand the "teacher" thing  I have always had this attraction to teachers. I just feel it oozes out sex appeal for a woman to command you sternly, particularly if she's hot. :D

You guys have it all figured out! We teachers have a way of commanding our students that makes them very compliant. Ok, all teasing aside...it is amazing how men's eyes light up when they find out that I am a teacher. My friend the nurse says the same thing! When I go out with a man I date occasionally, if his phone rings, he will answer it and, if it is one of his friends, says, "I can't really talk right now. I am with my teacher." It is the cutest thing ever!

    Question for Shaft

    Hi Shaft,

Are there any singles clubs in Philly you can join to meet women? Here in DC there are a few where you can do alot of activities (day and night) and even go on week long trips.

Below it one for Philly . . . good luck!!!

what kind of teachers? primary secondary education?? or college and university??

as I am used to both, i can tell you that liberal democrat teachers in philly both lower and higher ed hang out at the White Dog in University City; out in Mt Airy, in Manayuck, Chinatown, Bucks and montgomery county--Bryn Mawr, Haverford, the Tin Angel, all the coffee shops, the bookstores and tons in Cherry Hill New Jersey.

also try going to the artsy towns around Philly like West Chester, Doylestown, Lancaster, FRenchtown, Washingtons Crossing, Marlton NJ, the shore esp LBI

they are found in the not so posh restaurants and shopping areas--Peddlers Village and man you cant miss the museums

    Hi Howiedoit and Tucker,

Howiedoit, thanks so much for the link. I'll take a look at it during my spare time. Tucker, thanks so much again for your helpful feedback. Yeah, I've heard a lot about the White Dog Cafe, but I've never been there. Isn't it located in South Philly? I was kinda wondering if I should check it out because someone told me it wasn't located in a good part of town-crime wise. I must have perhaps been looking for love in the wrong places. I used to spend most of my weekends in Old City...wasting my time in places like Blue Martini, etc. where there's always more than enough of a supply of superficial and shallow folks. I want to start checking out Rittenhouse Square and places like Denim Lounge, etc. Do you know anything about Denim Lounge on 17th and Walnut?

    Re:

Teachers just seem to be much more open-minded to me. At least, the two I met before the fake one last Friday.

no brotha, i posted it in the last note on here. it is located on University of Penn's campus, right across from the law school, right next to Bucks county coffee and a wonderful french restaurant and bookstores in a very nice area.

I dont know who you talk to, but they are dead wrong, i know the good places in this town--i dont knwo the ghetto or redneck places

i dont go to south philly or north philly, only the good sections of town

who told you it was in south philly?

    Re:

My bad...I made a mistake, Tucker. I just re-read your post and I noticed you mentioned it is on Penn's campus. I have a lot of exploring to do in Philadelphia. It's unfortunate one of my best friends is leaving the U.S. in two weeks. It's always been the two of us who used to hang out. Unfortunately, he just never gets tired of Old City and places like Blue Martini and he's not into white women.

well there you go!! you have to first be able to diversify your surroundings, learn how to go out on your own, dont look like you are there picking up women, dont take their numbers in your cell phone(women hate that--it is cheesy). Give them a business card and ask for their number and right it down with a pen(its a writing device).

be able to talk about things other than her physcial appearance and trying to score. talk politics, culture, etc.

ask her out to a nice restaurant but casual--Rouge for lunch is good, Zanzibar is good for music and food or to a Ritz movie and a latte afterwards.

second date, art museum and lunch at Fork or White Dog, if she is a liberal woman

I think teachers are more inclined to date interracially than other folks, especially those in an urban setting. Most of my co-workers are Black, nearly all of my students are Black...therefore quite a few friends are Black, and now so is my man.

Most teacher ed programs at an urban university are really big on teaching anti-racist education and racial tolerance.

Please do not think that this makes all teaches tolerant of multi-racism and multi-culturalism. I've found very racist, albeit not obviously so, teachers in the central city.

And yes...I teach middle school students.

I have also considered marrying a teacher because she always get me the hookup on the academic price for computer software. Since I'm out of college I'm no longer eligible.
