We're getting married as soon as possible, and hopefully before our kid pops out. (Unfortunately that's up to the government and not us, because he's not a EU-citizen. They will eventually aprove of the aplication though, cause single moms can be incredibly expencive here...it just might take a while...)
Ronja, your country has lots of conservatives in parliament and it would be a while if your boyfriend to become a citizen. They will not listen what Brussels had to say of immigration in the EU.
The general trend in Europe theese days, is to make immigration more difficult. This is not just in the Scandinavian countries. Rules in Scandinavia are also getting stricter in all our 3 countries- regardless of government: Norway have a strong socialist/social democratic government, yet immigration laws are still being thightened. For instance ,the yearly amount of money one have to make to be allowed to get ones spouce in, have been increased. Immigration in the EU is really simple by the way, it's immigration to EU that's difficult... Anyway, because all children have a right, protected by the law, to have his/hers parents nearby (unless the parent is declared unfit), my BF will definetly get a visa. The question is wether it happens before or after our baby's born. Most likely it will happen before though, since (as mentioned) me being a single mom for a while, might become very expensive.
Let's hope that the conservative government in your country gives you less of a hard time. Don't forget however, that they are making it more tougher than the other Scandinavian neighbor country.
Ok, firstly to answer this question, YES. secondly, who would bein a relationship but not want an interracial marriage, that doesnt even make sense to me. maybe the 2 people that voted on that will step forward and explain?!
Marriage with a white women, 3-5 kids, spoil my wife and kids, retire at the age of 68-70, die of a new uncurable cancer at age 71 before my wife. Meh.
Why not. If she gives up much for you including her own family that says much about her love for you.
I'm not one of the (now 7) people that answered the poll that way. But my guess is that there are some who simply are not wanting to get married at all. Nothing to do with race.
