Sure they can. As long as they vote Republican. The rise of Sarah Palin and Joe the Plumber shows you don't have to be a mental giant to run for office under the Republican banner. And I dare say most of the Republican vote is "uneducated" to some degree judging from McCain's Klan ra--I mean "events."

It's interesting- I live at the moment in an area where it's just public servants everywhere. Our capital city sux, so we only stay down here when we have to for work.

There are lots of people coming out into the street to talk, and they are all happy. Unfortunately it's not the public service pay week so it might not be as big as other nights, but Australian public servants seem to be overwhelmingly in support. So the big machine under the party and prime minister that will also be aligned with Obama will be working well... once the hangovers are gone.
