Can't wait till this shit is over. I will miss the low as gas prices though. If gas stayed like this, I could tolerate hearing political bullshit more often.
If you notice, gas has gone down as the Bush/Cheney years grind to a close. You will see even lower gas prices after he's gone. Palin and McCain scream about "foreign oil" but good ol' BP, Standard, Texaco and other Bush/Cheney backers are the ones screwing us.
Yeah, I mean they're almost laughable. They remind me of a bunch of mindless drones the way they carry on walking like zombies with their eyes bugged-out chanting: "USA!!! USA!!! USA!!!". The religious right is what went wrong with the republican party.
Yes, and if you all going to vote and afterwards Obama doesn't do a Clinton on some intern or similar, all will be fine The GOP is all about smear campaigns, lies and hate funneled through religion these days. They used to be about greed. I understand greed and think it is natural human behavior. I can't stand their current direction of hate based on mysticism. Spraying hate on a candidate (and their voters) paid off before (2000, 2004), not anymore. Such a great cleansing. The GOP should go back to greed. You can't start that religious nut fire and put it out at the end of an election...it still burns. I swear global sigh of relief will bend this recession back into a small growth. I bet the stock markets will soar 10% globally when Obama is elected. Vote damn it! :smt038
Kid watch out, you're jinxing Obama! You'll wake up on Weds morning and McRage and Caribou Barbie will be president. McRage has come from behind before and who knows what dirty tricks the GOP have up their sleeve! Chill with the victory party until ALL votes are counted!
its a close race. McCain launched so many dirty ads against Obama, like the pro-abortion one and the church one where he attended for 20 years.
Unfortunately, none of that is going to help him win. Goodbye, Sarah Palin! She WON'T be missed! :smt038
Except she claims she's not going anywhere. Please, I hope she gets swept under the rug again...
The only person that thinks Govenor Palin has a future at the head of the GOP is Sarah Palin. She is a talented politician but a sideshow nonetheless. With George Bush, you could say that he made bad choices..but he wasn't really dumb...he just relied too heavily on those closest to him (ahem, Dick Cheney). Palin isn't ready and an incumbent Barack in four years isn't going to be an easier foe than he is now (unless he has some major policy blunders). The problem the GOP has is that they are searching for their version of Barack Obama...a young and charismatic newcomer that appeals to both moderates and the hardline conservatives...few politicians can do that..especially in these economic conditions. When times are good = People vote Republican...vote for the person you "identify" with the most. When times are bad = People vote Democrat...vote for the person you know can get the job done and clean the crap up. The GOP can recover..but they are going to have to take some lumps and learn...if they try to skip through the learning process and take a shortcut a la Sarah Palin, they are going to set themselves back even further. But this could be an even bigger problem because Millenials (those born between roughly 1976-2000) are likely to be more liberal than their somewhat centrist baby-boomer parents, Gen X older siblings or WWII era grandparents. The nation is currently slightly "right of center" but I suspect that Obama will start the U.S. towards being slightly "left of center" though the impact won't be noticed for another decade or more.
I'm sooo.... sorry you all are going to be so disappointed tomorrow night. Just remember, Sarah will be making history too, only not the history you all thought of. :smt031 McCain/Palin 2008!!!!
We've got someone pulling for the underdog huh? It's cool...I live in a place where Barack is a serious underdog. I can only imagine the grins on Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh's face if John Sidney McCain wins.
LOL! I'm sure we agree on more than that! If it's any consolation, my daughter (who is in kindergarten) got to "vote" today. She voted for McCain. Seriously, I need to start ingraining stuff in her head. She said she wanted to vote for Obama, but somehow punched McCain's name instead. Good thing she's not really voting! For the record, Obama "won" at the school.
Unfortunately with all the homeless, and uneducated people that have been registered by ACORN, many adults will be doing the same as she did. Good news for McCain!!!! ACORN did him a favor!!!
So deja vu...I remember doing that back in first grade the day before the end of the 1992 election...Clinton won in a landslide at my school...I think it was his saxophone routine on the Arsenio Hall show that won me over....that or it was story time and I didn't give a hoot!
