Lane, who appeared in court Tuesday morning wearing a t-shirt with the word "KILLER" in marker across his chest, will spend the rest of his life in prison for the murder of three teenagers at an Ohio high school. Going against the recommendation of his counsel, Lane addressed the courtroom before learning his fate. He smiled periodically and showed little remorse for his actions. "F--- all of you," he said, before raising his middle finger at the victims' families, according to the Plain Dealer.
With a life in prison, counseling wouldn't do much help for him. In these cases I always question whether he just randomly killed his fellow students or if they picked on him and he retaliated. School bullying is no joke.
Would be interested to find out the background of the story. I doubt counseling would help, but I have to say perhaps one day, years or decades from right now, maybe he will change his attitude and turn his life around. No, not to the point that it would make much of a difference but you never know.
yes, he did. I meant in the sense of one day having influence on someone else, perhaps by sharing his story with troubled youth.
i can tell you have a gentle heart. I on the other hand see forek for strong justice where needed....to me this is needed . now, i would say DR's need to get into his head to see how kids click and teach teachers how to ID and prevent. ..........then execute the kid. just joking...or am I
I do. I started to say I am more optimistic when it comes to matters like these. I hope therapists would be able to study him and overall the human emotion to try to curtail things like this from happening again. Truth is the world is big...how does that saying go? To you, you may seem only just one person, but to someone else you mean the world. so, in the end if the boy can mak a difference in one person's life...or better yet, as you stated, therapists can contribute to the wealth of knowledge we already have about the intricacies of human emotion...someone somewhere will benefit. So sad for the families impacted by such tragedy. My prayers are with them...
If this boy is not killed in prison(which could very well happen), he would probably end up in solitary confinement. However, if he survives, he could have the opportunity to get college degrees. Some inmates get law degrees. And they have free health care. We, the taxpayers take care of that. I had visited a minimum security institution and saw a recording studio there(inmates can have musical instruments with them). For his crimes, I hope he is punished for them. Counseling is iffy. Some people deserve to rot in prison than others.
He will find Jesus and turn his life around and be a model prisoner. Charles Manson has been eligible for parole since the 1980s, but he has refused or fucked up his parole hearing delibritly because he has stated no one will hire him for employment and he cannot be compensated on who is is because all money will go to the survivors. So he stays in prison under taxpayer care.
Sure, they can interview him, but he'll probably lie to them -they always do. The truth is, there's no story to share with this bum. He's a sociopath. Usually a murderer who kills one or two and shows remorse or guilt, those are the ones with the story...this one, nada. He's on earth only to destroy others. History is replete with his type ad infinitum. So fine let them poke and prod his mind a bit, but the best would be to do it to his brain, laid on a table, with scapels. He can do some right by donating it, asap.
