I think pretty soon, you probably won't have the luxury to speak English anywhere thanks to the Quebacois Bloc.
The language laws are pretty dumb as I have a lot of English speaking friends. It doesn't affect me personally as I'm a native French speaker. As for the Bloc Québécois they're pretty much a non factor these days.
The PQ are trying to get Quebec independent again. Don't they ever learn? Besides,I remember back in 94 they were mad at the immigrants who voted "Non".
Come the election on April 7, I guarantee the Liberals will have the majority in the National Assembly.
I believe you since a separate Canada would be dreadful. Besides I wonder if they want to use the Canadian dollar?
In the event if Quebec becomes a country, Pauline Marois said Quebec would keep using Canadian currency and seek a seat on the Bank of Canada.
She has some nerve having a independent country while having Canadian money. If she is really indy she should use the US Dollar.
I don't think using the US dollar is plausible. Marois pointed out that independent European countries share the Euro.
North of the Maritines there is a tiny French colony which uses the Euro. No doubt Quebec would do the same if they join the EU.

I went to college with a guy who lived in a small town outside of Montreal. He, like myself at the time, was majoring in Communications. He was also attending theater classes. Later, he changed his major to Forestry. I hadn't seen him in nearly 20 years.
