That's pretty good! You need to put a ? or ? after ?? though (I'm not sure if you've learned measure words yet). Because we're talking about people (pinyin is ren, ?)you'll probably be understood anyway, but it sounds a little off. Otherwise, super! That's really cool!

 

I've been trying, but kept putting it off. There are meetup groups in my area for Mandarin speakers, but I never go as I work. This time, I'll push myself to learn as I have the tools to learn the basics. At the same time, I'd like to learn the characters. As an artist, I like Chinese Calligraphy and find it to be aesthetic.

BTW, I'm partial to Cantonese as a lifelong fan of Hong Kong Cinema.
