Being that you are a man that probably won't be victimized by said rape culture it's probably not something you have to be all that worried about it.
You seem like you are doing that well enough with that.

words cannot describe how disturbing and ludicrous this case is.

the girl was 14 at the time, sexually MOLESTED 3 times (at least) by a child PREDATOR. No matter if she consented or not, she is not at the age she can make a consensual decision about sex or any sexual act with this grown ass MONSTER. She had psychological issues that were obviously very deep rooted. So much so that she ended up taking her life.

That alone is reason enough to lock this low life up for life. I cannot in my right mind remotely understand WTF happened that this judge would let this guy off.

    Absolutely horrible, disgusting & unfortunate.

Montana judge orders new sentencing for teacher convicted of sex with student

The Montana judge who created a national uproar when he sentenced a teacher to 30 days in jail for having sex with a 14-year-old student backed down Tuesday and ordered a new sentencing hearing.
Former Billings Senior High School teacher Stacey Dean Rambold, 54, will be back in court Friday after state District Judge G. Todd Baugh said Tuesday that he'd misread state law and that he now believed Rambold should have faced, at minimum, two years in prison.
In that case, Baugh said, the 30-day sentence — which set off protests outside the Yellowstone County last week and led to the creation of a nationwide petition demanding Baugh's resignation — "would be an illegal sentence."

"Illegal sentence" were the magic words, because the only avenue prosecutors have to contest the penalty is to show legal error. Yellowstone County Attorney Scott Twito told NBC News on Tuesday that "my job right now is to figure out if this case can be appealed."

Until Tuesday, Baugh had continued to insist that the 30-day sentence — actually, 20 years, but with all but a month suspended — was appropriate, even as he apologized for comments he made in court that were interpreted as having blamed the victim.

Baugh last week described himself as a "blithering idiot" for having said Aug. 26 that the victim was "older than her chronological age" and was as much in control of the situation" as Rambold was.
The girl committed suicide after the assault came to light.
More than 45,000 people have signed an online petition demanding that Baugh, 71, resign, arguing that he has "engaged in the worst kind of victim shaming."
"We will no longer stand by while individuals speak about victims in this way," said Kate Olp, the petition's organizer.

The victim's mother told NBC's TODAY that Baugh's original sentence and language left her "horrified."
"I don't believe in justice anymore. It was a joke," she said.
Rambold, a technology teacher, was originally charged with three felony counts of sexual intercourse without consent in 2008 when school officials first became aware of the sexual relationship.
The girl committed suicide in February 2010, denying prosecutors their lead witness. Prosecutors agreed at the time to defer prosecution for three years and dismiss the charges if Rambold completed a sex-offender treatment program.

But Rambold was kicked out of the treatment program for violations, including missed meetings and having unsupervised visits with his nieces and nephews, who are minors. In April, he pleaded guilty to a single felony count.
At his original sentencing hearing last week, prosecutors asked the judge to put Rambold behind bars for 20 years, but Baugh said he didn't think the violations were serious enough to merit such a long prison term.

I didn't watch the clips but from what I gather on the net, people are already suspecting there was a racial component for the teachers getting such long sentences

This phenomena has been studied before with black/white criminals

People are getting much less time for murder

Well, in all fairness to that nasty bitch, the age of consent in Pennsylvania is 16 so the kid was legal at the time that they had sex.

Still this video raises a valid point about the nonsense going on in Atlanta right now. You know priorities are ass-backwards when you could face more time for fucking with students' test scores than you can for literally fucking with students.

At last a liberal with some common sense on the issue. I watched the first video clip and I totally agree with Cenk, the male co-host. The teacher should not have gotten any jail time. Fired, yes. Jail, no. To think that a 17 year old male is harmed by having consensual sex with a hot older woman is simply ludicrous. Inappropriate? Of course. Harmful? No. We need to stop treating are teenage boys like little girls. They are different. Regardless of what the " mommy brigade" wants us to believe.

Now, the black teachers with the test scores should not have gotten 20 years. Barred from teaching ever again, ordered to provide the state with some amount of restitution, a year or two (no more than 5 with the possibility of parole) behind bars and call it even.

We really can't, truthfully, compare the two cases. Different judges, different circumstances, different crimes. Now, if you could find similar cases where white teachers were getting slaps on the wrists for the same crimes while blacks were getting the maximums thrown at them, then you'd have more of a valid comparison.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying the black teachers weren't given 20 years because of race. I'm sure race played a sizable role in sentencing. I'm just pointing out that comparing the two is like apples and oranges.

Every once in a while you'll read about test scores being fixed at a school, but at most a teacher gets fired.

20 years is beyond excessive, but that's Georgia.

In 2003 they tried to put a Black HS football player in prison for 10 years because he had consensual sex at school with his White GF who was 15, a year under the age of consent.

They charged him with aggravated child molestation instead of a lesser charge of misdemeanor statutory rape.
He was released after 15 months, I believe on appeal.

I don't think there's any way these teachers serve their full term, but Georgia courts are fond of reminding Blacks to stay in their lane.

I can't view the video but 'll assuming it's the same story l read last week.

Firing then is not enough in the least. This wasn't a couple of teachers changing a grade, it was a systematic state wide cheating scandal that involved 178 teachers and administrators from 44 public schools across Atlanta.

They did this to get bonuses and line their pockets.

How are they helping kids of Altanta to learn??

Not only were they failing to teach these kids an enducation, they changed answers on tests that judged student performance and ranked their schools. It's deception of the worst kind. To parents, to students, and to the Atlanta education system.

They committed this fraud for something like 15years. That's disgraceful.

While UP TO 20 years is extreme, 10 is reasonable with chance for good behavior. This conviction took FIVE years to conclude. This was a huge huge case.

This is way I wouldn't want to live in southern states like Georgia and Florida. But, to be fair, it's bad all over for a brotha' these days.

Unless something has changed in the past day or so, none of the teachers have been sentenced yet. They're facing up to 20 years in prison but the judge hasn't imposed any actual sentences yet.

Frankly, I'd be surprised if the judge gave them more than the minimum. All judges are bound by the statutes that govern whatever cases that they have to sentence but given how ridiculous prison time is for a teaching scandal, I expect there to to be a shit ton of probation. Even if they were given a lot of prison time the Department of Corrections is going to parole them out as soon as it gets the chance to do so.

This actually led to that law being changed in Georgia. Since the jurors didn't know what that the sentencing range was for that crime they didn't know what he could be sentenced to. The new law takes into account that kids are going to have sex with each other and treat it the way that it should be treated.
