LEBANON, Ohio — A high school teacher was convicted Thursday of having sex with five students, some of them football players, after a judge rejected an insanity defense that argued the teens took advantage of her.

Stacy Schuler was sentenced to a total of four years in prison for the encounters with the Mason High School students at her home in Springboro in southwest Ohio in 2010. She can ask a judge to free her from prison after six months.

The 33-year-old Schuler, who could have faced decades in prison, cried as she was handcuffed and led out of the courtroom.

The five teens testified that Schuler, a health and gym teacher, had been drinking alcohol at the time of the encounters and was a willing participant who initiated much of the contact. The teens were about 17 at the time. The age of consent in Ohio is 16, but it's illegal for a teacher to have sex with a student.

"This is a noble profession that you have, and I've heard a lot of good things about you, but I know that you had the opportunity, as all teachers do, to affect the lives of our children," Warren County Common Pleas Judge Robert Peeler said. "You crossed a line."

Schuler's lawyers argued that she had medical and psychological issues and couldn't remember the encounters.

Before sentencing Schuler on 16 counts of sexual battery and three counts of providing alcohol to a minor, the judge said it would be a "magnificent leap" to believe she didn't know her actions were wrong.

Schuler didn't testify during the four-day nonjury trial, and she and her attorneys declined to address the judge before he sentenced her.

But parents of two of the teen victims made tearful statements.

A father spoke of his son's depression and lost motivation and said the teen almost didn't go to college. He asked the judge to hand down a sentence to send a message that Schuler's acts are not acceptable and there are serious consequences.

"It impacts the teaching community as a whole, how a single teacher who made the wrong decision multiple times overshadows 99.9 percent of the teachers that truly do care, not pretend to care, about their students," he said.

A mother said her son turned to and trusted Schuler during an extremely low period when his father had cancer and related health problems.

"These young men may appear as if they are tough guys, but in reality, they are truly hurting," she said.

"She took advantage of their vulnerability. She crossed the line and it is unacceptable."

Assistant prosecutor Teresa Hiett further pointed out to the judge how the teens have been affected, noting that Mason High School was shut down for the week of the trial because "everyone's been trying to figure out who these five boys were."

Testimony from a defense psychologist had suggested that Schuler's medical and physical ailments, combined with her vegan diet and use of alcohol and an antidepressant, helped impair her ability to tell right from wrong.

A psychologist for the prosecution rebutted that testimony, saying that the use of alcohol does not meet the state standard for an insanity defense and that willingly getting drunk is not a legal defense for a crime.

Two former Mason students had testified that Schuler had devised a plan to enter an insanity plea before she was ever charged. Other students testified on Schuler's behalf, hugging her in the courtroom and telling the judge she was a supportive advocate who kept appropriate boundaries.

Schuler had been a teacher and athletic trainer at the school north of Cincinnati since 2000 before resigning in February after an anonymous tip to the school led to the charges against her.

A school band teacher has been jailed for statutory rape after admitting having sex with a 16-year-old student.

Devri Ann DePriest was recorded on tape confessing to the underage sex and sleeping with the High School student at least 20 times over a two month period.

Police in Gallatin, Tennessee, secretly recorded the 25-year-old talking with her former lover after they launched an investigation into their relationship.

The relationship with the boy, who went to the town's High School, came to light after he told his parents.

DePriest has previously worked as a student teacher at both McGavock High School in Nashville and DuPont Tyler Middle School in Hermitage. On her Twitter page she writes of herself 'i'm awesome. i love the french horn. i teach lil kiddos to play instruments.'

 

Queens Teacher Charged With Having Sex With Underage Student

Prosecutor: Tara Driscoll, 33, May Have Been Filming Pornographic Video
GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — Shocking charges were levied Friday against a New York City teacher.

She’s been arrested for allegedly having sex with an underage student at a Long Island motel.

She faced a judge Friday afternoon, reports CBS 2’s John Slattery.

Arrested and charged with both rape and performing a criminal sexual act is 33-year-old Tara Driscoll of Bay Shore. She was a high school English teacher at Campus Magnet Educational Complex in Queens until last May when an investigation started. Administrators reassigned her away from the classroom.

The District Attorney’s Office said she had sex with a student under the age of 17, who is not being identified.

According to the complaint, the incident happened on March 11 when Driscoll took the student to the Capri Motel in Lynbrook to engage in sexual relations. The prosecutor indicated they have photo and video evidence, suggesting a pornographic video was being shot.

“If it’s true it’s a horrible thing, but I dont really know the people so I dont want to judge,” said neighbor Donna Gamble.

Driscoll’s attorney, Virginia Lopreto, and her mother both declined comment as they left the courthouse.

 

A Queens special education teacher who was busted after videotaping herself in a sex romp with a 15-year-old boy was sentenced today to 90 days in prison.

Christine Williams, 42, was a fifth grader teacher at PS 80 in Jamaica until she was caught in the illicit romp with the kid, a pal of her stepson.

She admitted to Queens Supreme Court Justice Richard Buchter that she had sexual contact -- on two occasions in January and February 2010 -- with the teen.

Williams' teacher license was terminated, according the prosecutors.

"She has disgraced herself -- the children deserve a better role model," Judge Buchter said.

Before she was charged with having sex with a 16-year-old in her classroom, an R.L. Turner High School teacher developed a close friendship with the boy — giving him rides home from school and eventually buying him an iPhone, according to police affidavits released Monday.

Amy Renee Schilling, 33, was arrested Friday and charged with sexually assaulting a child.

Three weeks earlier, the popular biology teacher abruptly resigned from Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD when her principal confronted her about her alleged relationship with the teenager, according to police.

Schilling also had been reprimanded this school year for sending inappropriate text messages to another student, police say.

R.L. Turner principal Georgeanne Warnock reported the new allegations to Carrollton police, who later interviewed the boy.

The ninth-grader told investigators that he and Schilling became close friends during the school year, discussing “past relationships and Amy’s previous marriage,” according to police affidavits.

Schilling allegedly surprised him by slipping an iPhone into his backpack in May as “a gift for making good grades on his tests.”

Later that month, Schilling and the boy were sitting on a couch in her classroom, watching a movie after school, according to affidavits. The boy told police he leaned over and kissed his teacher, which led to sexual intercourse that day.

The boy said “he knew he had to keep it a secret” afterward, though Schilling did not specifically instruct him to do so, according to the warrant.

But on June 2, the last day of school, a school janitor walked in on Schilling and the freshman lying together on the couch, police say. The janitor said the student fled through a side door and Schilling told her to knock next time.

Schilling and the boy denied any relationship when Warnock interviewed them about the janitor’s claims the next day, the affidavits state. But the boy allegedly returned to school that same afternoon and told Warnock he’d had sex with Schilling.

Investigators searched Schilling’s classroom and her home in The Colony for the iPhone last week. A cross-city search for the teacher ended Friday evening when she was arrested in Frisco.

Schilling was transferred to Dallas County jail, and released on a $25,000 bond. She did not return a phone message Monday.

 

26 hit with child pornography charges; NYC substitute teacher Joshua Ruiz pleads not guilty


A parade of 26 purported perverts - including a Harvard lawyer and a substitute city schoolteacher - were accused Tuesday of swapping vile kiddie porn like prized baseball cards.

The suspected sickos assembled and shared a stomach-turning collection of tens of thousands of disturbing images as repulsive as any ever uncovered by law enforcement.

"You would be shocked and disgusted by what they contain," Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance Jr. said. "These are babies, these are toddlers and children being brutally raped and sexually assaulted and exploited by adults on camera."

Suspect Steven Roman worked in a children's shoe store, while co-defendant Miguel Caraballo was once a dishwasher at Manhattan's Alice's Tea Cup - a Lewis Carroll-themed teahouse catering to kids.

"There was never any interaction with children," said Alice's Tea Cup executive Michael Eisenberg, adding that Caraballo, 29, was fired earlier this year.

Caraballo kept his porn collection filed by age, with some computer folders designated for 1-year-olds, officials said.

The suspects, ages 18 to 63, all live in Manhattan and were busted over the last several weeks. At least one forced other children to view the horrifying photos "to desensitize them," Vance said.

Another suspect, 39-year-old architect Glen Barfield, exchanged sickening pics with a Canadian teen, who later performed a sex act as the adult watched via webcam, officials said.

Dive instructor Michael Schamis, a statistician with the New York University women's volleyball program, was also busted.

"The alleged crimes are very serious, and the university will act accordingly," said John Beckman, an NYU spokesman.

Substitute teacher Joshua Ruiz, 32, pleaded not guilty to felony possession and distribution of sexual performances by kids charges.

Authorities said Ruiz spoke about abusing his 3-year-old nephew in one of several online chats pulled off his computer.

"I'm so jealous of you," Ruiz reportedly told one chat buddy who described having sex with a 12-year-old boy.

The suspect, who faces seven years behind bars if convicted, also dealt in graphic sexual videos, officials said. He was released on $15,000 bail after his court appearance.

Ruiz, hired in September 2008, most recently worked at Public Schools 199, 166, 111 and 333 in Manhattan. He was yanked from the classroom after his May 4 arrest, officials said.

Asked about his stepson's indictment, Simon Pastor said Washington Bayona was being "questioned."

"He was looking at pictures on the computer," Pastor said, adding that police raided the East Village apartment they share and took a computer and a camera.

"I've been with him for 27 years. He doesn't drink, smoke or nothing," said Pastor, 57.

At his arraignment last night in Manhattan Criminal Court, Alfredito Arias' lawyer said the suspect was a decorated military soldier - as is his wife. Arias was being held on $3,500 bail.

Neighbors of the defendants were stunned.

"Hell, no! Shut my mouth," said Doreen Strack, who lives in the same lower East Side apartment building as Roman, 30. "He's polite. He's respectful. He's so sweet. It has to be a mistake."

Sherry Hernandez, 24, said a SWAT team descended last month on the apartment of accused perv Moshe Gerstein, 35.

The corporate attorney lived in a sixth-floor apartment where at least 10 kids - including babies - were among the neighbors.

"That's disgusting," Hernandez said. "I don't want to see him again."

A teacher allegedly sent five students lewd texts describing various sexual acts she would like to perform on them, it has emerged.
Jennifer Smith, 29, a married teacher at Steel Valley High School, in Munhall, Pennsylvania, is accused of 'sexting' a 15 and 16-year-old and three 18-year-olds at the school.

She is also thought to have sent nude photos of herself to several of the students.

Police said Smith asked all the students to delete the messages and photos she had sent, but they did not carry out her wish.

Smith allegedly sent the youngest boy a text saying she was 'thinking about him and missed him and that he looked sexy at baseball practice', according to a criminal complaint.

The complaint also stated Smith then sent him a text saying she 'wanted to perform oral sex on him after school in her class and have sex with him over her desk.'

In a pre-arraignment hearing today the judge ordered Smith to have no contact with any of those involved by phone, text or Facebook until her formal arraignment next month.

Smith arrived at court with a sweatshirt over her head in order to dodge waiting media.

But her open Facebook profile revealed she is a blonde and friends with several of her students, according to WTAE TV.

In one picture she is seen holding a beer can. A student has written underneath the picture: 'I sure can't wait till I'm 21.'

The teacher replies: 'Me either.'

A spokesman from the school district told the news station Smith has not been suspended or disciplined but has called in sick every day this week.

She has become MailOnline's 13th female teacher to be caught allegedly having inappropriate relations with students, this month alone.

Today a brother and sister were charged with sexually assaulting students while working at Dayspring Christian Academy in Chicago.

Eliza Martinelli is accused of sexually assaulting three girls and having sex with a teen boy while working at the church school run by her pastor father.

It also emerged today that a female maths teacher admitted having sex with a 17-year-old student in her car and claims she's pregnant with his twins, police say.

Rene Frank, 27, cried in court as she was charged with sexual assault against the unnamed boy, a former pupil at Charles Drew High School, Georgia.

The Andalusia Middle School special education teacher charged in March with sexually abusing three students pled guilty to two counts yesterday and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Amy Caudle pled guilty to two counts of sodomy in the second degree, both class B felonies, before District Judge Trippy McGuire. In the plea agreement, she was sentenced to 15 years for each count, to be served concurrently. She will serve three years, with credit for time already served in the county jail, and will have 12 years of supervised probation.

The agreement also requires Caudle to:

• Tender her resignation to Andalusia City Schools.

• Surrender her teaching certificate and license to teach.

• Be subject to the Community Notification Act upon her release, which requires her to register as a sex offender.

• Submit a DNA sample.

Chief Assistant District Attorney Grace Jeter told Judge McGuire that if the case went to trial, the state expected to prove that between November of 2010, and February of 2011, that Caudle performed oral sex on two different victims. Each was in her vehicle at the time. One incident occurred on Bray Street, the other on Johnson Park.

Caudle stood before Judge McGuire, accompanied only by her attorney, Al Smith. She wore jeans, tennis shoes and an untucked flannel shirt. She was taken immediately into custody after being sentenced.

After the hearing, Jeter said that despite only pleading to two counts, Caudle is being punished.

“The number of counts she pled to is not reflective of the measure of guilt,” she said, adding this was not a “one victim, one time” case.

District Attorney Walt Merrell said the primary goal of the plea agreement was to spare victims, all juveniles, from having to testify before a grand jury or in open court.

“We wanted to get Ms. Caudle off the street,” he said. “We’re satisfied, and the victims are satisfied.”

“I would be remiss if I didn’t commend the Andalusia Police Department on being diligently committed to the case until the end,” Merrell said.

Merrell and Jeter said the accusations against Caudle first came to light when Caudle had a “slip of the tongue” with a former school system employee. That employee notified Superintendent Ted Watson about her suspicions. Watson contacted the DA’s office, and immediately, the APD and DHR were called to investigate. Caudle was charged within a matter of days.

The victims were not Caudle’s special ed students, Jeter said.

“The most horrible part of what she’s done is that we can’t tell how it will affect these kids in the future,” she said. “It will possibly be with them forever.”

An elementary school teacher has been jailed after admitting making a sex tape with her daughter's 16-year-old boyfriend.
Michelle McCutchan,38, confessed to having sex with the teen on at least five occasions and setting up a video camera to film two of the romps.

The mother of one also sent the teen nude pictures of herself as well as sexually explicit texts during their five month affair.



Police in Checotah, Oklahoma, found out about the affair when the teen boasted to his friends about the home made sex tape.

After being quizzed by detectives McCutchan admitted she had videoed herself having sex with her teen lover.

McIntosh County Sheriff’s Investigator Tonya French said McCutchan admitted having sex with the boy between December 1st 2010 to May 11th.

'McCutchan said she had sent many nude photos of herself to (the boy’s) phone,' French stated in an affidavit supporting her request for an arrest warrant.

'McCutchan stated two times while having sex with [him] ... a video was made of the sexual acts.'

The arrest report said the teacher had sex four times at her home and once at the boy's home.

Local reports said the teen was her daughter's boyfriend.

McCuthchan has been suspended on full pay from her job at Marshall Elementary school where she was a 5th grade teacher while her bosses launch an investigation.

Checotah Public School Superintendent Mark Calavan said he learned of the allegations from the town's police chief.

'The county interviewed her [McCutchan] and one of our students,' Calavan said.

'There was enough there that I thought we should go ahead and suspend her.'

McCutchan faces up to ten years in jail after being charged with second degree rape and one count of sodomy. She was released from jail after posting $5,000 bond.

She is the latest teacher to be arrested for having sex with a student.

Earlier this week, mother of three Brittni Colleps,27, from Arlington, Texas, was arrested for having sex with five of her students after inviting them back to her home.

There were times early on in 2010 that I was afraid the whole Sex Scandal Teacher thing had run its course. That maybe, just maybe, America’s teachers had seen one after another of their own get caught, ruin their careers and sometimes go to jail and decided en masse to start getting their freak on with guys their own age. Little did I know then that it would end up being perhaps the best year for depraved teachers, ever.
So here, without further ado, is your 2010 Sex Scandal Teacher Starting Lineup:
Batting Leadoff: Jennifer Lee Rojas

There’s one quality I like at the top of the lineup more than any other. Sure, I like ‘em fast. But more important than that, I like ‘em tenacious. I like a battler. A grinder who’s never going to give in and sets the tone for the rest of the lineup. A real pain-in-the-ass in the mold of a Johnny Damon or Derek Jeter. And that’s our girl Jennifer to a tee. This science teacher from Ft. Worth, TX visited one of her 16 year old students in the hospital where he was recovering from a football injury and boned him right there in his hospital bed. Like Buck did in “Kill Bill Vol. I,” only in reverse. And unlike The Bride, the kid’s plumbing was definitely working since somewhere along the way he got Jennifer pregnant. Sex with a teenage student, in a public place, without protection? That’s exactly the kind of recklessness I’m looking for to start things off.



2nd: Nicole Chapman

Just like the top spot, in the 2-hole I want a grinder. Someone who doesn’t know the meaning of the words “quit” or “give in.” Or “inappropriate sexual contact.” Nicole here was banging her 19 year old student named Devaughia Snipes. Which would be a non-story except Devaughia is a mentally handicapped student at a Cleveland school for special needs kids. And the best part of the story is that my man Devaughia is the greatest “victim” in the history of these stories, coming right out and saying “I ain’t no victim. I love her and she loves me, so as far as that goes. They are not going to stop me from seeing her so it don’t matter.” Amen, brother Davaughia! Testify! With those simple words, he not only became the Rosa Parks of the Sex Scandal Student movement, he proved himself to be the most badass black guy named Snipes on the planet.
Hitting 3rd: Marcie Rousseau

Now we’re entering the power part of our lineup, and Marcie Rousseau is pure production. Those crazy sex eyes. The Snooki hair. Showing skin in the courtroom. Plus she not only was cheating on her husband with one of her students, she was boinking, according to the kid, “everyone else” including her assistant principal who quit his job. Bonus: the kid testified in court he once ran six miles to Marcie’s house to do her, a story that will sound even more dramatic when he’s telling it to his own kids someday when they’re asking for a ride to the mall. But any teacher who can inspire that kind of effort belongs in the heart of this order.
Cleanup: Diana Canter

Diana is the Manny Ramirez of this lineup. Not a ton of effort on her part, but she earns the cleanup spot on the basis of pure talent. Her resume… allegedly having sex with a minor who came forward to report her to the police… is the Sex Scandal Teacher equivalent of not running out pop ups. But there’s no denying her ability in the looks department. She’s like a Ghostbusters-era Sigourney Weaver. And like I always say, you can’t teach looks. Here’s a scouting report on Diana from one of her own students on ratemyteacher.com: “The next teacher you’ll see on the news. Wants the cute guys to drool and the lonely girls to be in her click [sic].” I don’t know about the lonely girls, but mission accomplished on the rest.
5-Hole: Lisa Lavoie

Lisa, the pride of Holyoke, is our local entry. How’s this for protecting the heart of your order? Some years, Lisa would be the star in his lineup. She fled the state with her 15 year old boyfriend, took him all the way to Morgantown, WV and was arrested in a hotel room with the lad. And she plead guilty to having a sexual relationship with him and now she’s facing 3-to-5 years of jail time. You just can’t get that kind of grit and determination anywhere. Plus she kind of looks like Bristol Palin, only a couple of years older, with less baby fat. And Bristol dates older men than Lisa does.
6th Spot: Megan Baumann

This really is a tribute to the depth of the field this year. Because Megan is not only a cute blonde, she’s also facing jail time. She’s plead guilty in Tennessee to drabbing one student’s package through his clothes, texting pictures of her “nude chest and pubic region” to another, and having sex with yet a third kid and following that up with sending him nude texts as well. Talk about your 5-tool players…

The best part of Amy’s story, apart from her poor man’s Denise Richards looks, is that she walked into the Burbank, CA police station and confessed to having sex with a 14 year old student. The official version is that she was “overcome with guilt,” but I’m not buying it. Amy is like Kevin Spacey in “Se7en,” she wanted to get caught because she wanted to be famous. She wanted to go down in history as one of the best. Worthy of being mentioned on Barstool Sports. Congratulations, Amy. You made it.
8th: Sharon Janelle Souza

Sharon is charged with the old “oral copulation of a minor” in Live Oaks, CA. She’s hot. She’s 43. She was a school “health aide,” librarian and Cheerios coach. What these two lack in looks, they make up for in brains, leadership and organizational skills. It takes a lot of acumen to do what these ladies did: throw a series of parties for kids as young as 11 (!!!), provide them with booze and pot and have sex with the ones who were 16 or over. THAT is how you command a clubhouse.
Biggest Disappointment: Melinda Dennehy

Melinda is the teacher from Londonderry, NH who got charged with indecent exposure over some cell phone pic of her that was making the rounds at the school. She looked great in the one photo I had of her. I sent up the Bat Signal to all the New Hampshire Stoolies asking for the picture. I was bombarded with emails from guys who said they would get it to me and that there was much more to the story. And then… nothing. Crickets. All I got was her mugshot which made her look more like a transsexual than a world class Sex Scandal Teacher. A bitter disappointment all around.
Toughest Omission: Sarah Pirie

Sarah is a teacher who was accused of banging her 15 year old male student in hotels all across the country. The kid wouldn’t cooperate with authorities though so they made a plea deal of taking him away without proper authority or somesuch boring nonsense. Anyway, this would be a great story were it not for the fact that 1) She teaches ballet, and 2) This all took place in England. Americans are losing ground to the rest of the world in every other field of endeavor; I can’t let foreigners take a spot on this list, too.
So that’s it. The end of another great year. And as we stand at the dawn of 2011, I promise you that wherever a depraved teacher is seducing her students, I’ll be there. Wherever some insane MILF is texting naked pictures of herself to a 15 year old boy, I’ll be there. Leadoff Hitter: Michelle Lynn Dennis



If there’s one defining quality I look for at the top my order, it’s a hitter who’s relentless. Throw out all the stats, I want someone who’s going to set the tone for the rest of my lineup and that’s Michelle Dennis through and through. 5th Spot: Karolyn Nagel



How deep is this year’s roster? So deep that the tenacious Ms. Nagel has to be dropped all the way down to 5, whereas most years, she’d be a cinch to be at the top of the lineup. The 24 year old Karolyn exchanged 1,000 texts with her 17 year old boyfriend, including 200 in one night during a school trip. She was at a booze party in another teacher’s hotel room, ducked out to be with the kid in his room and couldn’t explain where she’d been for 40 minutes. Batting 6th: Ranee Sue Proper



Ranee is your classic veteran bat that provides protection for the middle of your lineup. Think Mike Lowell. The cougariffic Proper should be wrapping up her 6 month jail sentence for im-Proper relations with two different students, aged 16 & 17 at her house. Exactly the kind of presence and leadership a club needs.

 

7th Hitter: Deanna Higgins



Deanna is a 27 year old married mother was exchanging texts full of “sexual innuendos” with a 16 year old student. She was also giving the boys extra help with his biology studies, primarily in the front seat of his pickup. She’s also arguably the biggest celebrity we’ve ever had here as she was a former child prodigy that played the piano at the opening ceremonies of the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. She’s also the only lesbian on this list, as she was caught with her 15 year old female student an a whole bunch of sex toys. As an added bonus, the girls parents, “two highly educated professionals,” are fine with Helen continuing to seduce their daughter once the girl turns 16.

Manager: Joey Strong




Joey not only brings to the table a plausible Major League manager’s name, she’s got exactly the kind of leadership and organizational skills I’m looking for. She was the girls basketball coach who brought her 16 year old son and his friends along to a tournament. And while there, Strong threw a beer party in her hotel room where she got one of her sons’ buddies drunk and did him. Managing a team is a tough job for anyone, and I prefer a players manager like Joey, that everyone can look up to.

I mean all of those women will get next to no time and be back on the streets once again like it never happened, its like its not even taken seriously. The worst I read is one got 15 years, only has to serve 3 along with time served and on probation for the 12 remaining years. W.T.F.

No doubt though these women took advantage of these young men.

We all can attest that at those ages as guys our hormones are raging about sex.

The thing is how do these experiences shape the future of these young men moving forward in regards to dealing with women. There are some things you can't predict.

Largest collection of Child Porn: Man gets 5 years

A New Brunswick man has been sentenced to five years in prison in connection with the largest collection of child pornography ever seized in Canada.

Douglas Hugh Stewart, 52, of Moncton earlier pleaded guilty to possessing, accessing and distributing child pornography.

He was sentenced Monday to five years for distribution, 4½ years for accessing and 4½ years for possession. The sentences will be served concurrently, starting immediately.

Judge Anne Dugas-Horsman did not include the 7½ months Stewart has already spent behind bars. His name will be added to the national sex offender registry for life and he will have to provide a DNA sample.

In her decision, Dugas-Horsman said the children in the photos are "countless, nameless, but that does not mean that they don't exist."

Crown prosecutor Karen Lee Lamrock said police found almost six million images and videos of girls — more than 4.5 million pornographic. The others were images of children who were nude, including in bathtubs.

Lamrock said Stewart had been collecting since the 1980s and he looked for new material on a regular basis, and the size of the collection is something never dealt with before in Canadian courts.

Police spent 700 hours going through the images, involving girls as young as two years old.

The Crown had recommended a sentence of five to seven years in prison.

Defence lawyer Maurice Blanchard had requested a four-year term. The defence said Stewart has no criminal record, and co-operated with police from the beginning of the case.
