Hello from Oak Park

Greetings one and all from Oak Park, Illinois - one of America's most diverse towns. I am also a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (B.A. in history, Class of 1996). Hence the reasons for my username.

I'm a 43-year old African American man that's single with no children. I've dated plenty of American women, Black and White,but have yet to sustain a successful long-term relationship. I'm convinced that most American women (regardless of ethnicity) are more concerned with a man's physical appearance, his career, and his finances than they are about the true love and support he can provide her. I'm tall at 6'3 - I'm not what you would call fat, but I admit I could lose some pounds. My personality can be best described as honest, caring, loyal, responsible, compassionate and affectionate.

Right now at this point in my life I'm looking to date internationally - preferably women from Eastern Europe. Specifically I'm looking for Ukrainian and Russian women. I've been reading a lot of the forums here and I must say that there's good advice being given in terms of international dating. I look forward to contributing to the forums myself. Thanks!

Some Russian and Ukrainian women love money, status, looks like any other nationality.
And green-cards. Be careful and don't rush.

Btw...why are you choosing those specific women? Because of their looks?

 

I would say that there is a lot more turmoil in the USA.
Just switch on TV any evening and it is dominated by US stories about shootings etc.

 

Not because of their looks - although they don't hurt at all - but because they seem to put family first, more so than most American women do. They seem to have kept traditional family values better than anyone else. That's what drew me to them.

Hello and welcome. I haven't'dated a Russian or a Ukrainian woman. Like any woman ,anywhere in this world, I am sure that you find these qualities provided you are totally straightforward and honest with them. And I mean any woman. A relationship with a Russian or Ukrainian woman takes time and it would seem frustrating in the beginning. Once you understand this, she will acknowledge and respond to you. I wish you luck in your search.

I've dated 2 Russian, 1polish, and 3 Romanian.

Speaking from some level of first-hand experience., stop drinking the kool-aid. Women from that side of the world can be just a materialistic or real as women from over here.

The one thing that I will say is that you may find it easier to meet someone, but don't expect them to be any different.
