Concerning your first statements, the issue of skin color amongst black people has been & continues to be a source for discussion on this board. And, even though it may not be as much of a class distinction here as it is in the Latin culture it is still very much prevalent especially in the entertainment medium and especially with black women. Sadly, that is something that has always existed among African American culture as well. No we aren't beating people down in the streets over it but to say that the folks that have posted on this thread/this site are naive & ignorant on this matter is just not true IMO.

Also yours & other comments concerning desperation:smt078 are laughable to say the least. Taken in context if I wanted to I could follow any thread or forum that has say at least 20 or so comments or a very heated thread discussion and say the same dayum thing on just about any subject posted. If you know anything about this board then you know that these forums/threads can take on a life way beyond their own (just like this one).

    On suntans & porn stars:

I would say this to all READ THE DAYUM TITLE OF THE FORUMS & IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE CONTENT POSTED IN SAID FORUMS THEN PLEASE SEE THE WEBBIE![IMG]

PS>As always we continue to thank you for your support.:smt003

If A.Rods last name was Jones, people would see his "Blackness" a lot quicker.
Slap a Spanish name on any famous "light skin" person and watch the "Blackness" go away...Vanessa Williams turns into Vanessa Lopez and the entire perception changes.

Of course we are using the ODR in this equation when we call Arod Black. I look like A rod, with the same features.

If he's all about ass, I'm really not impressed with this guys ladies, this dude should by bagging dimes and he's doing hagdonna.

lol,i knew i wasnt the only one who thought this section of the forum was.....sad.
It's like some of these dudes live vicariously, through these celeb brothers/other black men ....
I bet if Brad Pitt were to take an Ancestry test, and it revealed that he was 2% African, these lames would jump up and down with joy shouting "Angelina Jolie is down with the swirl!!!!"

    Hahahahahaha.

Well then in that case, as you know scientists have determined through research that all people on this dayum planet originated from Africa! Therefore there is no swirling because we all is from Africa!:smt104 There...I feel so much better now.:smt033

 The face of the earliest known European.
    Category: Travel and Places
A leading forensic scientist in Europe has created a clay sculpture face of the earliest known modern European; a person who lived more than 35,000 years ago in the ancient forests of Europe. Though the fossil fragments, found in a cave seven years ago, cannot tell us whether this person was a man or a woman, whoever it was lived as a hunter-gatherer and is the earliest known ancestor of modern man in Europe.

The first European: Created from fragments of fossil, the face of our forbears 35,000 years ago

As an aspiring archaeologist, I find this incredibly interesting. The more I look at the face, the more I see. Richard Neave, the aforementioned forensic scientist, called upon his years of experience recreating the appearance of murder victims, as well as careful measurements of bone, in order to craft this head.

One quote from the article is particularly enlightening:

"'Richard creates skulls of much more recent humans and he's used to looking at differences between populations.

'That's probably what you'd expect of someone among the earliest populations to come to Europe.'"

I'm glad you weren't either because we all know that blacks on the west coast and up north are soooo much more "aware."

This is true but ARod isn't half...and I'd venture to say that both of his parents are pretty extensively mixed with indigenous, European and African blood. I'd say he's more akin (but nothing like) to a Tiger Woods than a Barack Obama. Even with Obama, he's unique in that unlike most mixed Afro-Americans, he probably is AT LEAST 50% since his father could likely have no Euro stock and is Luo from Kenya. Any trace of black blood that may be present in his mom's family tree would put him over 50%.

You guys are applying American standards to ARod and forgetting that the U.S. and Latin America practice the rules of "hypo-descent" and "hyper-descent"....in America...any amount of black makes you "black" whereas in Latin America (I will say the DR is different since far more of them are what we'd call black...but many will still differentiate...i.e., moreno as oppposed to "negro") everyone views themselves as shades of white and brown. Black is not thrown around as easily as it is here.

Obama couldn't pass sure...but as I said earlier...he really is 50% and most "bi-racials" in the U.S. aren't anything close to 50%. Obama was not the best example but for someone that is borderline...their choice to identify as "black" when they could easily identify as "other", bi-racial or "white" is their own decision...others may see them as something...sometimes white or sometimes black but Obama from the start...said "I'm black"...when he could have easily said "I'm bi-racial".

    AMEN.

Black people are the only race in the world that does this. Other races are proud of who they are and don't adopt other races like blacks do.

Okay now we really are getting ignorant with this thread! First we are dissecting degrees & percentages of who & what is black either to include or exclude people depending on whether they have declared their blackness:smt066 or not or better yet, on whether we like them or not. And now we're attacking people's intelligence according to what part of the country they live in. We all are continuing to prove why "our folks" (since we can't seem to agree on who the FUCK they or we are) still have a long dayum way to go.:smt011

Irv Gotti, a white dominican father ? + an AA mother = BLk

Therefore, A-Rod with some white dominican gene + Dominican African ancestry = BLK
