Although it's not justification for those who lack motivation to even try, and in the media as in the minds of many, the face of welfare abuse is always black, there are rich or well-to-do people who abuse the system too...

I just hate the attitude people take when public assistance comes up in discussion. Not everyone on it merits the scorn from the rest of us.

Judge not lest ye be judged.... There could be a thousand different reasons for a thousand different people.

in the old days, native americans actually respected people that needed the assistance of the village. Everyone took care of each other proudly. They realized that it was truly a blessing to be able to be strong and work. With that blessing, they were humble and gave to the weak what they did not have.

Flash forward a few centuries later, and people in need are laughed, mocked and teased on sight. America has become corrupt. People that are strong do not value those who are not.

That may be true to a point, but I think those who are truly poor and in need do get respect from some quarters. Churches, homeless shelters to name two. My heart goes out to people truly in need.

I can't either. When I see patterns of many people, I tend to wonder especially when there isn't much to do while standing in line. You tend to notice patterns when you are bored.

Some how in my head, I don't think the government makes all the right decision. legality and morality are two different things.

So in your head you have always assumed that the government has used the funds appropriately?
There has never been a time when people have taken advantage of the program.

    Just curious.

When you are in a line and you see a pattern you ask questions. It wasn't one person but many.

ironic as more time I spend as an adult
The less I see the fairy tale of lets all get everything for free. You have been here long enough to see the change. I have been a bit more financial accountable. I do not think all the people on welfare should be on it.Some should(added to not allow people to make assumptions). There are some who are taking advantage of it. But god forbid we talk about it. Some day I hope you figure out to not use assumptions.

To petty, goodlove and all the rest of the folks who love to make their assumptions.

I asked this question in curiosity of are there people taking advantage of the system. I did not say that the system shouldn't be helping people. This thread was not about that even though some have pushed away from my topic. At least jordan c had a point of privacy. You made an assumption not even part of my topic.

Get your game together and stop pulling stuff out of the air.

edit: thanks for ruining my thread. Where would I be without assumptions? oh wait talking about welfare reform or getting responses to why someone is on welfare. really really thank you

This down turn started from this post. You make ASSUMPTIONS. I do not on this case. That's really why I asked the question. I don't know if I am the only one who wonders. I'm not going to just sit there and assume I am the only one who thinks like this(that there are indeed people who are misusing the system).

Honestly, You frustrate me. You go about besmirching me. You don't answer my question. You go into another topic . This was not in my topic. This was not what I asked.
It is almost as if you didn't bother to read and just came up with what you think I typed. If you think I am not being nice, it may be that you are making up what you want of me.

I'm trying not to piss you off but you are doing a darn good of frustrating me.

Uhhh...if you can read you will see my assumption is that the government is doing it's job of giving aid to those who qualify. That way I don't have to go to Walmart and stand in line and decide who should have it and who shouldn't. I won't live my life feeling hateful of those who don't have enough. Feel free to. You might want to look at my signature. I think it fits this topic oh so well.

And swirl used the word presumably before me. That word means close to assumption. I know the trend on WWBM is to cry and blame the women but Arch no cigar. :p

Can you explain why and where he was being hateful?

What I read from you original post that helped changed my topic was

I didn't see an answer any where to my question.
What do you mean by "You need to grow some heart Arch." ?
What is your implication? What do you mean by it? Am I doing something horrible by asking if other people wonder?
Of course none of this was about my question.

I didn't imply who should or shouldn't get food stamps or w/e.
Only until I made that last reply did you take the time to answer my question. Your first reply moved this to a place that the topic did not go to.
    Frustrating.

no, it is just you. You are the one that had the issue and came and blamed arch.

My first post does not attack JordanC
    Yours attacked me.
That was you just like your fuck you to another person.

You eventually move on after being wrong. I'll just wait it out.

What don't you understand? Most people with their answers here are saying no they don't wonder. They are saying the government should wonder not you.

No, You are again moving to another topic. How does that relate to

It is one thing to say the government should do it. It is another to make that comment. That comment is wrong and has clear implications. You don't want to explain yourself about this comment. This is the bad part about it. I can understood the first reply. But yours goes to a place to imply that I don't have a heart.

The way you phrased your original statement told your feelings.

You should have phrased it a different way if you didn't want people to judge you for judging someone else.

You don't like being judged?? Give the guy in Walmart the same respect. Everyone took away from it the same that I did. Your phrasing directed this thread.

Not every one. Heck the first reply was the government does it.

The first page was filled of people not interpreting like you did. In fact, you debate or argue with some of them(I might add they got closer to my point than you) and at one point tell someone(and I am the one not so nice) So fvck you.:smt102

You interpreted what you wanted to interpret. From hundreds of miles away, you make an assumption about what you think my feelings are. Having not known me personally. If you had known me, you would have gone the correct way. But you didn't. That's really the problem. The assumption. You don't even want to admit to the assumption being incorrect.

There are even more replies where they do not make your comments. Again blame arch Don't take responsibility. It is arch's fault I went the way I went.
Clearly, I know the guy from hundreds of miles away. Not my fault. I didn't type it. I didn't make assumptions.

    again frustrating.

Honestly, It was a yes or no question.

Arch some people think their shit dont stink and are annoyingly opinionated and think they know you more than you know yourself. Such people are mostly full of shit.
