Thanks, Tarshi! Happy 4th, everyone, in the good ol' US of A! My son is on a pyrotechnics crew and will be doing a show from a barge just off the beach in Margate, NJ. So if anyone is at the Jersey shore, there are shows all along the coast, but theirs is a good one! Check it out!
Thanks, Tarshi! Also, your avi appears to be that of a cougar. Dare I say that it is an interesting choice...are you trying to tell us something?
Thank you Tarshi when is Oz Day? 4North,bring that link on Frederick Douglass' speech. Cbaygirl, bring some pix of your son's work.
Happy Independence Day everyone! "I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free. And I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me." - Lee Greenwood
Me too! Becomes that much more meaningful when you enlist and serve time in the military. I remember listening to that song in bootcamp...tears just STREAMING down our faces. I am sure you can relate. Your ex was military, wasn't he? Military families really sacrifice so much, also.
Yes, the ex was military. (Go Navy!) The first time we went to see a movie in a military theater, was in Rota. They played our national anthem prior to the movie, a song I'd heard and sung hundreds of times. But that time (and every time since), I got goosebumps. We have our issues as a country, but I'm proud to be an American.
This was the first year I went to one of my son's shows but I lost my video so I'm borrowing someone else's from YT. It's too bad that the crew can't be seen lighting the strings because that's pretty cool too. (Their shows are all manual, not done electronically). And they use a lot of salutes (flash-bangs) so their shows are LOUD!!
