    The title sez it all....

Ennyroad, this happened to a good friend of mine, an independent filmmaker, back in 1991.

In L.A. there once was a studio director named Kerry Greg Fendahl Nowacki...and he LOVED to have that FULL NAME on his desk nameplate thingy...like it was *worth* something....like some kinda title or degree....:smt015

Ennyroad, he gets a call about a prestigious indie filmmaker coming to strike a deal with the distributor that Fendahl worked for...told that the filmmaker's representative would show up at about 2:00 P.M. or so..The rep says he's on his way.

Whe rep arrives, Fendahl is told that the filmmaker is known as "DuShawn"...Fendahl responds to this info.....by backing away and putting his hands behind his back...refusing to accept the scripts and what-not from the rep. Saying (babbling?) over & over "I just can't do it. No. I just can't do it.."

The rep...considerably miffed....says when finally departing...."Maybe we talk agian under more conciliatiory terms, yes?"

Fendahl answered : "I'll THINK about it!!"

Later that afternoon, when Fendahl was on lunchbreak...he strolls over to an eatery near The Sunset Strip.

There seated at a patio table, he sees the rep...conversing with the bloke he THOUGHT was named "DuShawn"....

"And so, y'see, Dusan, the percentages of international distribution profits and such..."

The fella that Fendahl snubbed...was DUSAN GORDIC!

A bloke from the Eastern Bloc of Europe...who now divides his time between living & working in Toronto & Hawai'i.

Spelled like "Susan" but PRONOUNCED "DuShawn"(!)

Fendahl took it all in...and desperately tried to apologise to Dusan and the rep for a 'little misunderstanding' (And WE know just whjat the HELL that alleged 'misunderstanding' REALLY was about, DON'T we, folks?)

The rep told him quite jovially : "Oh, no, no, no....you told us already that we wern't invited in...and you haver no use for Mr. Gordic..so, we'll be on our way now."

"...oh, and by the way, I took the liberty of contacting your supervisor and told him all that you told us, and the reason you were rather rude to us..I trust that you *truly* don't have feelings like you do for any people that do not look and act like you do (An obvious stab at Fendahl's prejudiced attitudes towards what *he* assumed was a Black fella)..He says he wants to see you in his office after your break.."

Dusan & Co. got up and departed..

Fendahl made it back from his lunchbreak, and upon enteering his bosses office, was promptly told - that for letting a client and a deal and potential profits go OUT the window with those actions of his - he was fired.

Fendahl's current whereabouts and activities are not known...but - seeing as being fired from a plum job like his DOESN'T look good on a resume - I gravely doubt that he's still working ANYWHERE in the entertainment industry (Except mebbe as a janitor:p)

    I don't hafta say a *thing*...this Slice-of-Life account speaks for ITSELF!

    'Nuff Said!!!!
