So, my husband and I were driving home from my parents' place this evening, and the car breaks down. My parents live waaaay out in the country.....but thank God it was a well-traveled road that we were on. Thing is, there must have been a hundred cars or more that passed us, and only one (outside the sheriff's officer) stopped to see if we needed help. A couple of Mexicans slowed down to gawk, but once they realized my husband was there, they took off, lol. What's even stranger is I was standing outside the car, so most passer's by could only see me....not my husband. For all they knew, I was alone, in the middle of nowhere, on the side of the road.

So tell me...if you saw a stranded female on the side of the road...would you stop, and at least offer to call somebody for her? Or just ignore her and keep driving?

Thank God for Daddy and my bro...and the tow truck man. Four hours later, we are home.

In broad day light, id probably ignore her. But if she was SEXY id prolly fix her car and then give her road directions to my place

PS. those mexicans did the right thing by taking off after noticing your hubby. You have a well abled MAN in your presence why do u need my help for??...thats his fucking job, unless he's willing to 1) PAY ME....2)let me hit it afterwards,,or SOMETHING ....i aint helping him or his wife :

I would have helped to atleast drive you to the gas station or something. What was wrong with your car?

    thanks, injera! 8)

don't know what's wrong with car yet...had it towed to our apt and husband going to try to find somewhere that specializes in imports to have it towed tomorrow. it's leaking oil, and was overheating like crazy. had to get alternator replaced this week already....it's always something! my husband is thinking it could be a gasket, but might be a seal or something....hopefully it will be something inexpensive. but with our run of luck, i'm thinking not. :( :?

I had a flat tire on the side of an expressway once. It happened at night. I was alone. The only person who stopped was a cop. It was Memorial Day weekend, and the cop said he couldn't help me, because they were busy. Luckily, I had a cell phone and called my Dad. He came to help.

While he was fixing my tire, my Mom and I were standing there trying to help him, and the cop came back and asked if I knew these people who were helping me. I said, yes, they were my parents.

But other than that, not a person stopped to ask if I needed help.

don't you just love Dads? they always come to the rescue...i have a great dad!! :) and my lil' bro too...hehehe :p

part of me can understand why people don't stop anymore...there are so many weirdos out there...but in a small town like where i was, you would think people would at least make sure we had someone coming to help if nothing else. my family and my husband and i have always tried to go out of the way to help people in distress. one time last summer, me and my sis saw this woman walking down the road - she was like 8 months pregnant and it was like 95*F....we gave her a ride. she was so grateful!

if only eveyone would just be nice....the world would be a better place.

Dads and brothers do come in handy in situations like that! :D

That was very nice of you to stop and help that woman. I could see how you would feel comfortable stopping for a pregnant woman.

I would of stopped to help, although you have to be careful with stopping with strangers. So daylight would be the best and if it is at night make sure you have road flares to let passer bys know someone is over there...for your safety in case something is up.
