    i read about that

i used the word lynch in the past, but i did not mean anything racist by it..

i was just referring to someone getting "dipped-on" and beat down...

    but..again...like the Don Imus shiet...

some people are pulling the race card and putting every little thing under the microscope and calling "foul"

now, people, white people especially, have to be careful about what they say, when they direct it to a black person..

some people may be happy by this...other people may think it's just "widening the gap a little bit more," between whites and blacks in america.

Who cares if she knows him or not, it was a pretty stupid thing to say IMO. There are many blacks who have family members, loved ones etc who were lynched and that comment doesn't sit well with them. In fact lots of whites have commented on how stupid her remark was. A local white News anchor in my area even commented on how ignorant and irresponsible that comment was. Should we excuse racist comments because it might widen the racial divide beteween blacks and whites? No one is "playing the race card" what a stupid phrase. Anywho, she is lucky the elections are going on, because she would be unemployed right about now.

that's your opinion, and I won't slam you for it..

    however..

saying things like "stupid phrase," doesn't increase the validity of your comment.

    just my .02

It was a silly and foolish thing to say.

The over reaction to it has reached equally silly and foolish proportions too.

Tiger Woods' response to her remark and apology is the right way to go about it... he understands the difference between an "insensitive" remark and an "offensive" remark. Not everyone can tell the difference.

they called sharpton in and he's demanding she be fired..

but like i said.... I used the word lynch before, but not in a racist manner... black people, our people, weren't the only ones who were ganged up on, tied to something, and beat silly.... but it's an image that we see and hear about, and i guess some of us still take offense to someone saying it...

she didn't use any racist language... she just said he should be lynched by his fellow golfers, because he's that fuking good...

    c'mon...

but hey, this is just my opinion. Don't hate me on it. It's a free country.

I just don't see the racial aspect to what she said. I agree with the Golf Channel suspending her, since I don't think she has any clue or knowledge behind the true story of what she said and it is offensive to some people, and understandably so. If Tiger says he is cool with her apology, then that is the end of the story. If she says that term again, I would say fire her, but for now, 2 weeks is ample time for her to collect her thoughts on the right path.

You dont see the racial aspect of what she said????? Your kidding right??....

Let's not make excuses for this lady and say she didnt know what she was saying! (This lady isnt dumb and even the dumbest biggot in America knows America's history of lynching blacks!) Of course she "knew" what she was saying. I think you mean that she "mis-spoke." Which I can understand, I mean your on TV with a "live" mic and she's trying to be humoruos and entertaining.

A two week susspension sounds fair and I'm glad the Golf Channel didnt overreact and listen to Al Sharpton.

If Tiger didn't care about it, why does everyone else?

Clearly he's intelligent enough to know racism when he sees it, but the last time I checked, he didn't think there was any ill-intent in her comment..

Maybe Tiger lives on another planet..

or maybe he just doesn't want to "rock the boat," in the fight against racism...

    :?:

What about the word "slave." We know our history of that, right? Would we be offended if some white guy said "I'm going to work you like a slave on this project," and call for him to be fired? Or would you look past racism and believe that the man was just playing around, hinting to you that there was going to be a lot of work in the future, for you at your job.

I think sometimes it depends on the the context of the situation, when to know someone is playing around, and when to know they're really being racist. Like I said before, lynching isn't an "exclusively black, negative term," but some people would like to believe it was, along with the word "slave" and "slavery."

Thank you, this is exactly my point we shouldn't have to result to ignoring or excusing racism at the expense of some whites getting upset or widening a so called racial gap.lol Her comment was offensive to some people, regardless of whether or not Tiger was offended. If her comments didn't offend anyone, then she wouldn't have been suspended. And I agree, that Sharpton should stay out of this, her punishment was fair.

On another note: We have to remember that Tiger doesn't see himself as a black man, that could be one of many reasons why he doesn't get offended when racist attack him with slurs. I remember some years ago, a white golfer slured him with fired chicken jokes or something to that effect, and Tiger just brushed it off. Its kind of interesting that even though Tiger doesn't identify as black, why are black racial slurs, (not asian slurs) the slurs they use against him.

Word to God, if i hear someone mention the phrase "race card" again when blacks (accurately) express outrage at a racist sentiment, i'd go poster on this muthafucka. That phrase definitely belongs on the "words to be retired" list.

The fried chicken comment came from Fuzzy Zeller(?).

Tiger Woods would call himself a Martian if it meant he could cash another check. Its one of the reasons Im not a fan of Tiger. Everyone has an opinion, and Im not saying Tiger has to be Bobby Seal, but DAMN, at least open your mouth and have an opinion on something.

My personal opinion is that Tiger has "Michael Jordan disease" is a "slave" of Nike and and his agents.

Where is Charles Barkely when you need him...

She had forgotten what Fuzzy Zoeller said and Imus too. That woman must be punished and not a slap on the wrist. As for Tiger, the word Calinizan can go so far.

Like I said before, i totally forgot about fuzzy's dumbass

    :)

I do like fried chicken tho, and i'm black

I'm not going to lie about it.. I wouldn't see why I should...

I guess when it's worded like the way fuzzy did, in that context, it's racist.

I do get that term lynching set off some people; I do agree it is an offensive and racist act although Native Americans and whites were treated as inhumanely and poorly as African-Americans were. The reason why I said this was not a racist statement here is this, Tiger said her remark did not offend him, even though he accepted her apology. Not every black men thinks and acts the same way. Tiger doesn't sees himself as simply a black man, he sees himself as cablinasian, or whatever race that is. I don't like him personally because of his attitude, but don't have a problem with him not choosing to fight for African-American causes. That is not his persona, he usually lets his playing do the talking.

I feel the 2-week suspension was fair. That was a stupid thing she said. I believe even with the level of education she has gotten, that does not make her street smart and sensitive to race relations, no amount of college education no matter where she went to school earn those things. I don't think she is a bigot, misguided definitely.

You best believe if tiger were jewish and she said

"maybe they should wait till he goes to the bathroom and gas him"

NOBODY would be claiming political correctness or saying jews are being "too sensitive"

She would have been FIRED and the ADL and mossad would be on her ass
