People like that are quick to claim how "I had nothing to do with that" or "I never owned a slave" or "It doesn't matter it's in the past" and how nothing that happened in the past has anything to do with the way things are today. But they'll turn around and pat themselves on the back for "How far WE'VE come" and "WE freed the slaves" and wax idiotic about how great this nation is because of the founding fathers, yet slavery/Native American genocide/segregation/Jim Crow/400 + years of legalized discrimination/affirmative action for Whites has nothing to do with anything has absolutely nothing with the state of affairs in America today. They're very quick to accept America's good, especially when it comes to History, but sure as hell don't want to be associated with America's ugliness. Past or present. And they sure as hell don't want anyone bringing it up. The hypocrisy is quite blatant. But naturally they don't see it.
