Looks like it is becoming more of a reality. Could this make it harder for racists to discriminate in the future.... interesting. http://www.geneticsandsociety.org/article.php?id=4542
Yes, interesting. I think it's stupid, superficial, and shallow though, as far as using it to choose physical "appearancey" (hair/eye/skin color) characteristics. But, I think using it for the prevention of disease would be good. As for making it harder for racists to discriminate - I'm not sure how it would do that. If anything, I think this is making it easier for people to discriminate. That's what they're doing anyway (discriminating when choosing one hair/eye/skin color over another). JMO
If anyone can choose their eye, hair, skin color, in theory racists would have a harder time deciding who fits their sick definition of *pure*. I am sure they would find another way of discriminating however.
That's an interesting theory. So, if they had a harder time deciding what's "pure", then what they think is "pure" would eventually become obsolete? Yea, they probably would find another way of discriminating or just focus more on another way, since there are countless ways already, I think. :smt009
I think it's unnatural...yes I'm a student of science, but I don't agree with messing with "the plan." Everyone is the way they are for a reason...screw racists/bigots/assholes...besides if I ever have children, I want them to be a nice mix of me and whoever the daddy is. Now as far as genetic testing for diseases like SCIDs and breast cancer...I'm all for that!
