it's sad that happened to the girl, but all of these huge lawsuits in a recession, just makes my head spin.

100,000k is coming from the district itself (which will probably go into more debt), while the other money is coming elsewhere.

..thinking of all of the unpaid rape victims out there, this is both selfish and bananas..

I mean, not only first and foremost would I ever direspect a female that way, why does anyone want sex that they have to physically and mentally steal. besides, i would think that some rape cases have happened, due to sexual frustration between partners in a relationship. If a man is constantly turned down, there's nothing but frustration and anger, which just leads to forced sex because they can't take no for an answer.

 

Seriously, how would you know unless that has happened to you? I can understand if you say homosexuality is not for me because I have pictured myself in the act and eewwww, that's not for me. But the above bolded statement is not really something you picture yourself in, you would have rather to have experienced it.

Agreed. It's a crime of violence and not about needing sex and getting it. Plugging in sex or a gf won't make someone non-violent.

 

What I don't understand is how can the school district get sued? This is a sad event but the put herself in a dangerous situation. All of that money is not going to change her way of thinking.....

Rape is anger, control, and power. While neither the trigger nor the end state is sexual gratification, to suggest that rape is not sexual is to dilute what makes rape so devastating; sex being used as a weapon. A weapon that effects the victim, mentally, physically, and psychologically.

 

I think because the dance didn't have chaperones or teachers watching outside and there was poor lighting where the rape occurred and there were no chaperones outside to stop the drinking n shit. Not completely sure about the details though.

 

rape can mean a lot of things, to be honest. I'm just looking at it from a man's perspective, my perspective. Rape isn't 'sex' to the women here, because women are more than likely to be the ones victimized by it. But for a guy who rapes a girl to his climax, i think he would consider it an act of sex/sexual aggression.
