Friendships with those you were once involved with

Honestly, I've only had one woman, and I her only man. So there are no exes to be concerned about. However, double-standard or not, I aint having it. I make no apologies for it. 8)

 

I try to have a friendship with my exes but they would have nonething to do with me after the breakup.

 

The problem for me is that I CAN'T genuinely be friends with ppl who I've been in love with because

a/ I find it hard to ignore the sexual chemistry (let's face it, it never really goes away)
b/ this usually means I will act inappropriately and/or try to hit on them
c/ I might still be a little bit in love with them and cannot say that I am actually happy to see them with another woman...which they all are.

So there you have it, a psychotic, jealous bitch :lol:

Well at least you admit it and know yourself well enough to stay away from your ex's.

 

I like that distinction. Once you've had those strong feelings for someone it's hard to back up and take it back down to friends.

I would disagree with the idea that once you've been sexually attracted to someone and been in a relationship with them, you will always be kind of attracted to them. I have no sexual feelings for my ex-husband at all, he actually almost repulses me now. Blech. We could probably make some kind of tenuous friendship work if he weren't always jacking me around with my daughter.

I like to be casually friendly as much as possible, life's too short to go around with a list of enemies out there!!
