http://freefalcon.com Not sure how many flight-enthusiasts there are out there, but this is definitely a title to pick up for the PC if you are looking for a good combat-simulator. Free Falcon is a community-modded version of the original 'Falcon 4.0,' which came out way back in the late 90s. The graphics have received a major overhaul, bringing them into the 21st century, while maintaining the high-fidelity of the systems, that made Falcon 4.0 one of the best simulations to date. The flight manual that shipped with the original Falcon, is damn near 400 pages, and is written by a USAF trainer. You really have to read it to get familiar with everything, from setting up your radar, learning basic fighter maneuvers, how to use the weapons, and so forth. Every switch in your cockpit has a function essential to the sim, no joke. The sim was developed by Micropose originally, in cooperation with components of the USAF, and was flight-tested by Air Force pilots and trainers to come as close as possible to the real thing. I think you can actually download free falcon...for free (no shit) off of the website, and give it a spin. Works best with a flight stick/throttle setup. Also, Free Falcon allows you to fly just about any plane you see in it. They aren't as complete as the F-16 (in terms of unique radars and heads-up-displays), which the sim was built upon, but they're good if you want a change.
This is a virtual squadron flying a mission with A10 Warthogs. I haven't screened the full video (so i dont know if they use harsh language), but it gives you an idea of the sim. Like i said everything in the cockpits are clickable, so you really have to study the manual. (I know so geeky)
Im a flight geek. I have an F16 on my keychain - -from my visit at the real Top Gun School outside Reno ..... and I would sell my first born to fly one!!!!!! Im drooling!!!!!
lol u gotta have kids first i was hooked on jets since 'Top Gun,' air shows at my area Naval Base, and models at the Franklin Institute. The reporters that get to fly in the back are really lucky.
Ill get on having kids right now then!!! Im hating on those reporters that get to go. I think flying in a fighter jet is on top of my bucket list.
you already sky dive, so that's out. they may have civilian flights, but ull probably have to pay a nice fee for one, like a helicopter tour (which is what i gotta do one day too)
What is out because I skydive??? Having children? I didnt know skydiving made you sterile??!! LOL I have jumped from Bell 412s probably a dozen times. That is cool as hell ....the ride is fantastic!
