Fox News Channel at 12:10pm pacific time predicts Obama winner! History has been made! What say you? Congrats to Obama! Thank you.
Not so fast! I believe it when those polls close in five or six hours. People are still voting as I type this message.
I just checked their web site and it says no such thing. The polls are still open, it is not legal for networks to declare yet.
It's about giving voters a sense of complacency, which will induce them not to vote. Remember there are multiple Senate and House seats up for grabs as well.
people were screaming and shouting at my job, after he got elected mccain never had a chance hell.. i'm even contemplating calling out sick to celebrate.. but i just took a vacation day yesterday, so... :smt012
Congratulations to all Americans on this board who supported Mr. Obama. You’ve created history all over the globe! I salute you in all your glory! artyman:
I sensed a more subdued reaction from the Fox News coverage, especially this morning. I'm still curious what Sean Hannity has to react after hearing this. I suspect him still having his head in a toilet after finding out Obama won the election.
Thank you America!!! And Congrats to all. this is indeed a good day for you guys and the world. Thank you to those who voted, whichever person that was for. And a big special thanks to those who voted Democratic. Also - kudos to McCain for a really great speach..and gracious defeat. Maybe I might just stay here now Maybe Obama will give me a green card! haha. I had several (too many) of these last night and went to bed very happy. :drinkers:
I was scanning the channels I usually watch (CNBC, MSNBC) and, decided to pay Fox a visit. The commentary was more of having respect on winning the election not, happy he won the election. One needs to just look at the facial expression on the commentators of these three networks when it was official to see the truth. With nearly half of the US population voting for Mr. Obama, it is evident whom the Americans preferred for their next president. The final numbers stand 349 for Mr Obama, 189 for Mr McCain. Mr Obama was only 29 points away from having half of America voting in his favour. Whereas Mr. McCain could not reach the benchmark of 270 points, in order to be considered a victor. Cheers!
OMG, you guys have no idea how fucking elated i felt when Obama won!! As soon as i saw that California had been called for him - and thus the election -, i hugged my twins and started to cry like i did last year when they were born. Seriously, i know the world will read this, but i dont fucking care because that what i do. And when i saw those crowds in Grant Park and Obama gave that victory speech, tears continue to flow across my face. It was sooo unbelievable!!! I believe that he has opened doors for so many people and the world would look at America like they never have before.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMlOKvTZcqM Question : What does America think of that statement? Personally I think its, like the video is titled, SHOCKING. Im no expert on American history, but what about people like JFK who supported integration and civil rights? Obviously I can see why Obama's election is good for relations and moving forward yada yada but I just think thats such an unfair thing to say to the vast majority of white politicians and people in general who have never done anything to hinder the progress of the African American community and especially unfair to those who have worked and intended to improve it. I dont buy her back tracking either, if there was a larger voter turnout number and more "sleeves being rolled up" at an election with two white candidates she wouldnt be proud.
You goddamn right you're no expert on American history, because if you were you'd know that JFK was no champion of civil rights.
