Feeling the same way. When I joined in early/mid 2008 the atmosphere was different,IMO better, than it is now.

In regards to the original question....

It's hard to tell which is the "right" way. Best is everyone does what feels "right" for them & what they feel comfortable with. Not everyone comes here or stays for the same reason either. Some may just enjoy the pictures posted by others, then some may be hoping to meet someone-may it be casual/sexual or something of substance and commitment-,others just want to discuss or express their thoughts and ideas.
Be yourself,do not take disagreements too much to heart/too personal, and in return don't personally attack someone based on a disagreement on a matter discussed, and give the site and the other posters some time. The first impression may not always be correct.

If more forum members were like you this place wouldn't be such a joke.

Co-sign. In the short time I have been here, I'm apalled at how some newbies are treated by some veterans of the board. I know of at least one person who hasn't been back after his initial posts on the board and the individual genuinely seemed like a nice person. I understand that veterans have had their fill of trolls & troublemakers, but at least give someone who appears to be mildly suspect, the chance to make their true intentions known. If they are trouble, it will come out soon enough.
