How about we drop the black part of it and just acknowledge history. We waste too much time on this horse shit.

 

As long as White America sweeps black contributions to history under the rug, Black History Month is necessary. Shit, there's Black History that even BLACKS don't know about. It's needed.

 

Then we as a people should make it important year round as a part of history and lets be real for a minute who actually retains any of this information other than history majors. I think we should have black science and math month before black history month that's the area that will not only advance African Americans but the nation as a whole. We are lagging behind and focusing on shit that frankly isn't as important.

The actual quote is he who does not heed history is doomed to repeat it but my point wasn't to ignore it it's to shift focus. His is important but we use to progress into the future and technology ie science and math is the future.

 

I agree, there are also a lot of white Americans who wouldn't know anything about black history if it wasn't for black history month. It's not like they are likely to learn black history at home, so if it wasn't a focus in school, they might have no exposure to it at all.

Several years ago my daughter was telling me about some of what they'd learned during black history month and my ex-mother-in-law piped up and said 'Honestly I don't know why they have to give them their own month.' My daughter replied 'because white people have the other 11 months out of the year Grandma.'

 

And it's the shortest month too don't forget. LOL.

Now that we're talking about Black History, here are a few who should be in Hall of Fame in the near future.

I forgot to mention the dude who make it be hip for Black Men to be on the D.L. That's a major milestone in Black History.

 

I say get rid of all the bullshit they call in this country black history. Now the damned rappers have top billing. Bring in the the real black history of African history, culture and languages. Bring in the history of the peoples of African descent in the Diaspora throughout the Caribbean, Central and South America. Blacks need to know more of the history of Haiti, and Brazil which has more blacks than in North America. What about the history of blacks in Europe like those in Germany before the Nazi Takeover. There is even a historical account from a black man who was in Germany before Hitler's rise to power who was the son of a German woman and an African father. This bullshit they call black history in this country will not give homage to blacks in science and technology like Charles Drew (blood plasma) and others instead we want to honor fucking rappers and have a fucking fashion show.

 

With the exception of Snipes and Simpson,the real house slaves to be inducted would be Ward Connerly,Star Parker,Thomas Sowell,Walter Williams,and Larry Elder.
