No, it's not about impressing someone. First impressions are about the vibe a person gives off.

If a guy trips on his way over to say hi to me, I'm not going to brush him off for that. But if he has a negative vibe about him, then I won't ignore that.

And I agree with the FG about dogs: unless they've been trained as watch dogs (in which case first impressions don't matter), then dogs will treat you well if you give off a good vibe and be very leery of you if you give off a negative vibe.

At first I was terrified of Tarshi, FG, IB, Bookie, and Espy... ya'll seemed so tight-knit and had so many jokes that I felt like the outsider, and I didn't yet get the 'tone' of what you wrote, so sometimes I wasn't sure what to make of it.

Since then, I've learned that you all are a wonderful group of women- you're hilarious and intelligent, and I enjoy chatting with you all (especially Espy at 3am..LOL).

I originally thought that drae was kind of a dick, and well, drae, you're kind of a dick. LOL But you're a lovable one, and I like how you 'keep it real', because you do bring up some interesting points. You always bring an interesting element to a conversation, and you're hilarious in your own way.

Petty, I just thought you were pecs on a screen causing trouble. That hasn't changed too much. lol

Ymra, to be honest, I never really knew what to think of you. I still don't. You can be kind of a dick sometimes, but you show a lot of different sides to yourself, so I'm undecided.

Francie- The first time I really 100% noticed your posting was the thread with Trey. I was like 'Holy shit. I love this girl.' You could hurl insults like no one's business...and I was kind of scared of you. I know now that you're hilarious...but you don't take any shit.

Kush, I'm sad to say, I really didn't have a first impression of you! I missed your original thread, so maybe I just caught you after the fact. You always seemed really cool-headed and intelligent to me. Still are!

 

I'm an enigma. I dance to the beat of my own out of tune drum. Can you tune a drum? I don't have a group, or pack, or a bunch, I also leave what I say on one thread and don't often take it to the next. If my buddy says something wrong I will correct him....but if my enemy says something right, I was agree with him.

....I will always be the same way. Once people get to know me and understand me they usually end up being my closest friends.

i do know what DB is saying though cause that's how i felt when i first started on the forum. there's nothing wrong with it, i like the fact that we're all very close. i had the slang barrier to deal with as well, at the beginning i was clueless a lot of the time.

 

Bookie! I didn't think you were a big scary monster, I was just afraid to get into the group, so to speak, because you all were so close and I wasn't sure I'd mesh well. That, and I'm instantly afraid of large groups of women....years of being picked on as a kid kinda stuck with me. lol

I like how you post too, the serious topic you wrote about a lil while ago was wonderfully put and you seem to have the knack of getting ur point across in a manner thats good to read.

There aren't too many that are still around from when I first joined. If I remember correctly, Books was the first female that welcomed me so I instantly took a liking to her. That was a connection that I'm glad that I made. I thought that she was very smart and funny, and I still think that to this day.

Soulthinker was the first male that welcomed me. I still think that he's a nice guy.

Tony was the next gentleman that welcomed me after a question that I asked about foot fetishes. I thought that he was nice, funny and a little naughty. He still has the ability to make me laugh at a moments notice and to get me all hot and bothered with just a few words. He's a connection that I'll never forget, and I know that my life is better because of him.

The only person that I feel that I was totally wrong about when he first joined was Max Mosley. I judged a book by its cover, and I thought that he would be arrogant and stuck-up. I couldn't have been more wrong. One of the nicest guys that I've talked to on the boards. He may be hot, but he's not stuck on himself and that just makes him even hotter.

IB: At first i thought you would be one of those defensive types, but you turned out to be hella cool and laid back. You're definitely one of my favorite posters on the forum. To add to the many things I like about, you're smart, you have a great sense of humor and to top it off you're pretty.

Whiks: At first i thought you hated me...... No really I did. I thought you were going to be an asshole to me the whole time. What ended up happening was you (like Ib) became one of my favorite posters on the forum. After the thread with the down syndrome kid that the scored the touchdown, I thik thats when you stopped looking at me as a troll. You're funny, nice, pretty, smart, and cool as hell.

FG: What is there to say about this sexy little thing right here. I guess my first impression of you turned out to be true. You're sweet, very pretty, level headed, and just a great overall person. The forum wouldnt be the same, if you left.
