She broke the law she should be punished.
Poor people need to stop being lazy and get on their feet by themselves. This encourages laziness.

    lol.

i support her on both points ...religously and humanitarion side.

its contrary to texas to tout bible values but stomp on the poor like that.

now im gonna give a pass to a pt in wondering why that law was passed

It's hype. Based on the story, she was cited because she doesn't have the permit. So get the damn permit. Many municipalities even waive the fees or discount if it's for charity.

It isn't about not allowing her to feed the poor.

I don't think she should be fined, just go get the stupid permit.

Take Dr King off your avatar...you are losing your mind.

I knew you were crazy when you actually said there would be no civil rights movement if not for the..............FBI.........

They infiltrated and destroyed the movement along with our best leaders.

    Ever hear of COINTEL PRO...?
I guess you believe J Edgar Hoover was a friend to the movement.

    The FBI killed Dr King...
    Did that help the movement.?

    The permit itself is stupid.

Yes I know. And there are all sorts of stupid rules and regs in every state.

The question that was posed was if she should be punished and if her religious freedom was being stomped by "not allowing her to feed the poor".

She's allowed to feed the poor, she just needs to get the permit. There are other rules and regulations that go along with it all. Many of the rules we think are ridiculous came about from lawsuits in the name of protecting people. Some of which include food safety regs, etc.

There are usually ways to still go about doing things, just have to figure out the way.

Usually people's views on punishment have as much or more to do with their views on the nature of the act/crime than whether or not it was 'legal'. I think human needs should be the priority of human systems. They should give the woman a break.

Well that will never ever be the case as long as the decision makers never have to feel the effects of their decisions

And we can forget about them ever punishing those that cause real society-wide harm.
