I thought it was going to be racy. That is the tamest picture I've ever seen that got someone in trouble. They fire people over the dumbest stuff.

The pic is tame but I can see the school reasoning, she is a coach and supposedly educate kids, so some kids will see her differently after that pic and might cause respect issue.....

When r ppl gonna get not to post anything personal on FB, it is not private, privacy don't meant shit them.....

Exactly. She was the one being grabbed, yet she was the only one fired? What message does that send to the boys and girls of that school?

I honestly think it's an incredibly mild picture and should have not resulted in disciplinary action of any sort. But by firing just the female coach, they've opened up a big ol can of worms.

Our organized school systems, whether public, private, secular, or religious, are a pathetic joke and mess!

that Pocatello Idaho football program must be really important...obviously he is her bf now but if they break up she is going to be pissed that he didn't get fired and probably sue the school board

I think they should have fired them both

She posted the pic on her FB page. That action, more so than the picture, was likely what got her fired, and why they didn't fire him.

Maybe they were just looking for a reason...

Who knows the internal politics of that school...or maybe Idaho is just that fucked.

So many people in positions of authority are straight up assholes.

Instead of going after this woman's J-O-B, call her on the phone, express your concerns and tell her to TAKE DOWN THE PHOTO off her FB page.

    Problem solved.:smt024

    Nobody gets warnings/reprimands anymore???

I can understand why they'd want to get rid of her, what with the disruption and bad example the photo might cause in the classroom. Really bad judgement on her part -- especially if she uses her facebook page to communicate with students.

On the other hand, beyond working hours she should be free to do as she pleases, especially if it's something as mild as that photo. If she's not inviting students (and colleagues) to view her facebook page, it really should be her own business what she does with it.

Yet on the third hand, the school board has to cover their asses. If she ended up fucking a student or something, the law might say the school should've known better than to place her among kids having seen that photo.

... So all in all, :smt102

I'd say let her go. She's already fucking someone on the job, and now she's showing it off to students. Loose cannon. Bad situ waiting to happen.

Totally double "standarded"....she'll probably sue if age doesn't get her job back soon, or position elsewhere equivalent or more (which might put strain on that relationship).

She should have had her profile private to students and too strangers. Not to say that it wasn't private to faculty for what somebody snitched, but she would then have an even bigger case. Facebook is for friends and social life, not coworkers your friendly with. The only people that seem to understand this are the higher-ups that have a lot to lose, the people close to this blurry line seem to learn the hard way.
