There is an agenda in the UK and most likely stateside too. Some feminist groups keep saying "rape prosecutions are too low" they don't say "not enough rapists are being brought to justice" this makes me very worried for our justice system as rape charges have been for a long time guilty until proven innocent. It may not be that way on the statute book but in reality thats how it works.

I'd rather face multiple charges of mass murder and ethnic cleansing in The Hague than be accused of one rape in a UK court, I'm not exaggerating either.

Just have to see the way well respected public figures over here who turn out shouldn't even had been charged in the 1st place get hounded in the media.

All of this takes away from the real victims of rape who might put off coming forward.

I read this article. Wow, life can sure take some crazy twists and turns! Everything that happened to them brought them closer. Inspiring example of love that was meant to be. If it's not meant to be, nothing can revive it, and if it's meant to be, nothing can stop it.

I have a cousin at U. of Alabama right now, he tells me that Black men have been harassed by law enforcement a great deal recently in light of these false charges. Once again the Black man is portrayed as the universal "bad guy".

TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) - The University of Alabama Police Department says a report of sexual abuse that happened near the University of Alabama's campus was "fabricated."

According to a press release, the alleged victim admitted that the incident reported did not occur.
They said the investigation has been closed.
UAPD said the woman falsely told them three "dark-skinned males" assaulted her in a vehicle.

Repped! False accusations ruin the lives of males, so I believe anyone who makes one should receive the same exact punishment/jail sentence as anyone who commits an actual act of rape. Rape is such a serious crime that it shouldn't ever be turned into such a joke at all. I wouldn't be surprised if such false accusations were also common in northwestern european countries such as Sweden, where there are reports of rapes being supposedly committed by blacks and other dark-skinned races.

Hey look at that! Being accused of Rape doesn't actually mean your a criminal or in violation of school rules. Well look at that, due process does work once in awhile. He is still a dumb kid in some ways, and smart in others (rediculously high GPA), but all the folks that say the Tallahassee cops gave him a free pass can now shut up as a former state supreme court judge has made a final ruling in regards to the school conduct code.

poj beat you to this in the cosby thread.

    Could you define does work?
He basically had his reputation destroyed. Who knows if he can get into the nfl?
The accuser goes scott free. If that was me, I would sue her for libel. assuming that you can sue for that.

Cool if it was posted elsewhere. Just thought it deserved it's own discussion. When I stated that do process does occasionally work I was being sarcastic. That doesn't always come across in text.

Let's be honest here, he does do some dumb shit.

There is a bigger issue here however. This is an example of how black men in America have to keep their shit clean MORE than any other Americans. Look at the fact that about 40% of black men will spend some amount of time in prison. It's this society's way of keeping us as second class citizens. They are ready to throw us in jail immediately for shit that most white people will do once or twice in their lives. As black men, we have to take note of this and act accordingly. Think twice before drinking and driving, getting into a bar fight, or cursing out a cop.

    What else is new

Unfortunately no one cares what the accused go through as far as destroyed reputations and so forth

Keeping the accuser hidden while jameis was smeared and viewed as a campus rapist just seems rather strange

I see why you'd do that...to encourage people to come forth and protect them from further assault...but in the cases like this, you have to wonder if it's time to protect BOTH parties and quit this trial by public opinion nonsense

People do lie about rape, that's a given. It's expected to be a pretty tiny fraction overall, but there have been numerous high-profile incidents of this happening in the past. You should feel happy that people are willing to weigh the evidence before making decisions, because this wasn't always the case.
