I love being able to share things with friends and vice versa.

It's a great way to keep in touch with people and see what they've been up to over the years. There a lot of people I'd probably never hear from if not for FB.

That's because I'm fucking epic, right?

As with anything, there are pros and cons. Some days the pros outweigh the cons for me, other days it's the other way around.

But, overall, it's nice to get back in touch with people you haven't talked to in awhile, and also it's nice to share your life and pictures with those who care about you in a "one stop shop".

Also, I have a couple of friends who moved to Cleveland and whilst the wife posts WAY too many pictures of her kids, it's also nice to see them as they grow, as I'll likely never meet them in real life.

Then, you have the over-sharers and the people who post things just to bate certain people who have opposing views...kind of like on here. LOL.

Overall, I think it's a nice way to bring a bunch of people together and they've made it easier to separate people into groups, so if you want, you can only share stuff with a certain group and not worry that others may see something you don't want them to see.

I think the benefits outweigh the negatives.

 

I'm not a fan, but I use it. Easiest way to keep 10-20 friends in the loop on something simultaneously. But I have been thinking about trimming my presence there back a bit.

Facebook is what you make of it.

 

I've found relatives on there that I didn't know that existed. Granted, my last name is super rare, so if anyone has it, that pretty much means we're related (in a very traceable way). I was able to connect with family members that I would have never even known that existed (like my grandpa's siblings' offsprings) due to family feuds (that happened waaaaay before we were even born). But it was so nice to find them, and talk to them, like our ancestors' BS never even happened.

 

the good thing about it is that it breaks down barriers...racial, gender , and other barrier that seperated groups as book touched on earlier

 

It's great for knowing what people had for lunch today.

 

You aren't missing anything.

Facebook isn't quite as free as people make it out to be. At least, that's what I got from it. You have to send friends request. You have to find people to send a friend's request. Too much work as far as I can see. It is also a place for people to give out information for others take it in(CIA, FBI, marketing )

I don't get it. I don't get twitter either.

FB is hilarious to me...people share way too much information trying to make themselves seem important...some have an agenda with their posts...I post very little and chat behind the scenes

I travel all the time but never tell people when I am leaving or coming home or where I will be...a friend of mine did this trying to make people think being on the road is glamorous...just what Goodlove said happened to her...
