To the construction worker who comes into Dunkin Donuts at the same time every day and orders two egg white wraps. On Friday, when they took your order before everyone else (cause they knew what you wanted), and I said, hey that's cheating (with a smile) - I should have taken you up on the offer for a coffee. And when I walked out to the parking lot and you waved at me...made my day!

It's been almost six months since I broke up with my cheating man. I'm asking you all - do you think it's appropriate for me to see if the Egg White guy is interested in more than coffee or is he just being friendly? I just don't want to come across the wrong way. I am kind of uncertain about approaching anyone now, but maybe this is a small step in the right direction? (apologies for going off topic)

 

Yes. WW should understand and feel assured that those kind of gestures from BM are often respectul ways of politely opening the door for your approach. He's interested in you, in all likelihood and you have nothing to lose---except the chance to get to know him better. Did you ever think that his hope for seeing you may be the reason he goes there when and as often as he does......?

 

Thanks Carlos. I noticed there was another post (since deleted) that suggested that unless I was really hot, I would appear desperate. Obviously, your post holds promise, but since Egg White hasn't been in so far this week, this may all be moot!

For some of us, ANY positive gesture or comment beyond what is required in the normal course of the encounter is a sign of at least mild interest.....
