As much as I hate saying this, because I really want to be on the Elin is a bitch bandwagon, we really don't know the circumstances of this divorce.

Does she deserve $750 million? Hell to the no.

Could he have maybe given her an incurable STD through his actions? Quite possibly.

Maybe THAT'S the reason she got such an insanely high settlement? The fact is, there is no way of knowing why the courts decided to award her an outrageous amount of money.

Andrae, don't use this as a reason for not getting married ever. That's just crazy talk. You aren't a celebrity. Celebrities play by vastly different rules than us regular folk. There is no way on God's green Earth that if you were to marry and get a divorce, that a judge would award your wife 75% of the estate. It's a 50/50 split of all the debt incurred and all of the money/assets/equity made throughout the course of the marriage.

Trust me, I know a thing or two about divorce (in IL). ;-) And I divorced a guy who was making $600K or more a year when we divorced. I did not get a $300K settlement. Nor did I deserve that amount of money.

The fact is...don't let this settlement be your guide in how you conduct your personal life. You can't compare his situation to yours. Famous people play by different rules.

That being said, this settlement sickens me.

 

Umm he specifically told her to not ever say a word to the press and keep her silence. He flat out agreed to give her 700 million dollars to keep quiet. I think its safe to assume that Tiger has a ton of dark secrets that havent been revealed yet.
